Hey teens! Ready to rock ‘n’ roll?
Camp returns Aug. 8-12
to Pendleton Center for
the Arts

PENDLETON — After two years of
being virtual, Rock & Roll Camp will again
bring about 100 teenagers to the Pendle-
ton Center for the Arts for a week of music.
The camp, for ages 13-18, runs Aug.
8-12. It is completely free.
Whether a teen is a singer, aspiring
music journalist, interested in the off -
stage jobs of music or an experienced
or fi rst-time musician, PCA’s Rock & Roll
Camp off ers a learning opportunity for all.
Acoustic and electric guitars, ukuleles,
drum kits and other instruments are avail-
able for free loan during the camp. Teens
are also encouraged to bring instruments
they play, including strings and brass.
Registration is now open at www.pend-
letonarts.org or in person at the Pendle-
ton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St.
Early registration is recommended, as the
camp is limited to 100 participants.

Showcase Concert
Participants in the Rock & Roll Camp
will give a showcase concert at 7 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 12, on Main Street in
Pendleton.
The camp, Aug. 8-12, is free for ages
13-18. Enrollment is limited to 100;

call 541-278-9201.
ABOUT THE CAMP
Addison Schulberg is the 2022 camp
director. He attended the camp for six
years himself, then served as a volunteer
and instructor.
He now “leads the group of 15 to 20
Northwest musicians who pour their
heart and soul into making sure that
teens have a week they will always
remember,” said Roberta Lavadour, PCA
director.
For one week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
every day, campers can learn to write
songs, play an instrument, form a band
and hone their stage presence with the
help of West Coast indie band mentors.
Campers who are interested in journalism
will have the opportunity to learn from

Teens who are interested in off -stage
jobs can learn about photography, vid-
eography, zines, sound mixing, graphic
design, marketing/social media content
and how to set up sound systems. These
artistic campers will combine their variety
of talents to help create the camp zine
that will encapsulate their epic week of
fun and learning.
To fi nish off the week, campers will
have the chance to show off their new
rock ‘n’ roll skills to family and friends at
the camp showcase concert. The concert
will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, on Main
Street at 7 p.m.
