ENDLETON — A library
setting may bring to mind
silence, books and computers,
but the Pendleton Public Library
is changing up how a library can
grow to help a changing com-
munity.
The staff has created the
Library of Things to off er tools,
electronics, games and kits to
check out to help make every-
day life a little easier — whether
you’re looking to try a new hobby
before committing to the cost or
in need of a tool.
The list of items available for
check out is continuously grow-
ing in hopes to have something
for everyone to enjoy.
If you have been wanting to
go camping but don’t have the
equipment, you can check out
backpacking gear along with
the hammock set, camping tent,
butane stove and campsite stor-
age strap.
For outdoor activities you can
check out the infl atable stand-
up paddleboard, Dakota K2, disc
golf deluxe starter set, bocce
ball kit, Astroscan telescope,
Force 1 UFO400 2 Speed LED
Stunt Drone, and Holyton HT02
Mini Drone.
If you’re looking for some-
thing new to do, try checking out
the Podcast kit, all-purpose knit-
ting kit, American Girl Doll and
Kit, Knifty knitter, “knit a hat” kit,
sock knitters kit, yarn winding kit
or “Embellish Your Knitting.”
Gamers and electronics
lovers can check out an Acer
Chromebook 14, Alcatel Mobile
Hotspot, dual screen portable
DVD player, Nintendo Switch
Lite, rechargeable power station,
Wii bundle with Wii sports and
Wii resort, Sphero app-enabled
programmable mini robot, TJD
Tablet MT-715QR, and Aniblock
puzzle challenger.
Items can be checked out in
person or placed on hold if it’s
unavailable.
The library, 502 SW Dorion
Ave., is open Monday-Thursday,
10 a.m.-7 p.m., and Friday and
Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. It is
closed on Sundays.
