— Thanks to a grant from the
Roundhouse Foundation, the Ore-
gon East Symphony will off er free
general admission to its spring
concert, “Winter Moons.” Per-
formances are set for 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 12, at the Vert
Auditorium, 480 SW Dorion Ave. in
Pendleton, and 2:30 p.m., Sunday,
March 13, at the Hermiston High
School Auditorium, 600 S. First St.
Complimentary general admis-
sion tickets to each concert are
available at the OES offi ce, 345
SW Fourth St. in Pendleton. For a

OFFER FREE CONCERT

HERMISTON — The Inland
Northwest Musicians will present
a concert Saturday, March 12,
4 p.m. at the Hermiston Commu-
nity Center, 415 S. Highway 395.
There is no admission charge;
donations are accepted.
The concert features two
pieces by Ludwig Van Beethoven:
Symphony No. 1 and Piano Con-
certo No. 1. Guest pianist will be
Harriet Wong, who will perform on
the newly repaired and refi nished
9-foot Chickering grand piano.

GEAR UP FOR ANNUAL
RED TO RED BIKE RACE
ECHO — In its 13th year, the
annual Red to Red cross-country
mountain bike race is Saturday,
March 19. Early packet pick-up is
Friday, March 18, 2-8 p.m. at Sno
Road Winery, 111 W. Main St.,
Echo. In the evening, racers will be
treated to a soup buff et and live
music. Late packet pickup on race
day is from 7:30-10:30 a.m.
Staggered race times begin
at 11 a.m. near downtown Echo.
After riders exit town, they will
head toward the Sno Road Winery
and Echo West Ranch & Vineyard
mountain bike trails — a winding
system of single-track trails that
climb and descend rolling hills
lush with wildfl owers, sagebrush
and wildlife.
More than 400 riders of all
ages and skill levels participated
in the 2021 event. Depending on
the category, the race distances
are either 32, 23 or 14 miles.
There is no spectator fee. Race
entry fees are $20 for juniors and
$55 for adults. Online registration
must be complete by March 17.

This year, the 5K will include
both a pedestrian and a cycling
route. Both loops will begin and
end at ACE, 1006 Penn Ave.
Proceeds support ACE’s Youth
Scholarship Fund, which provides
youth up to 18 years of age with
reduced-cost ACE classes and
opportunities to engage in arts
of all kinds (take-home art kits,
