the team with 2.9 assists.
She also had 5.4 rebounds
and 2.6 steals per contest.
Two Outlaws also earned
honorable mention: junior
Maci Marr and junior Emily
Love. Marr averaged just 4.5
points per game, but did a bit
of everything for Enterprise.
She averaged 4.8 rebounds,
2.7 steals and 2.7 assists, all
totals that she was either sec-
ond or third on the team in.
“I look at my two players,
Maci and Emily, who were
honorable mention. They
could have just as easily
been second team,” Craw-
ford said. “Very proud of all
of them. They are defi nitely
worthy of all they got.”
Love came on strong late
and fi nished with 9.3 points
and 3.3 steals per game, sec-
ond on the team in both cat-
egories. She also shot 42%
from the fl oor, the best of
anybody on the team with at
least 10 fi eld goal attempts
in league play.
“I felt like I had four girls
that were in the top 15 play-
ers (in the league), and so
did everyone else,” Craw-
ford said.
In addition to the four
members of the girls team,
Jackson Decker was a sec-
ond-team selection for the
Enterprise boys, helping the
Outlaws to a strong fi nish
that saw them take two of
their last three games after a
2-17 start to the season.
Decker averaged 10.2
points per game on the sea-
son with 62 assists and 54
steals. In league, he shot
35% from the fl oor, 31%
from 3-point range and
67% from the free-throw
line. Perhaps the highlight
of the season for the senior
was scoring 18 points in the
fourth quarter to rally the
team from a 16-point defi -
cit to a win against Grant
Union.
“I couldn’t be more proud
of him and his accomplish-
ments this year,” boys head
coach Kyle Crawford said.
“I know Jackson would
agree that great individ-
ual performances only hap-
pen with the support of his
team.”

ALL-OOL AWARDS
*League player of the year
Continued from Page A9
in the fi rst two games of
the OOL district tourna-
ment, the Cougars eked out
a 35-34 win against Joseph
in the third-place game for
their fi rst playoff berth since
2019.
“Our kids have worked
pretty hard this year. We’ve
improved from the start
of the year to the end,”
Oveson said.
The Cougars’ sea-
son ended with a rough
loss to Jordan Valley in
the fi rst round of the state
playoff s, but the future
looks bright for Wallowa
with four starters return-
ing, including three play-
ers who earned all-league
accolades.
Leading the way in the
player awards for Wallowa
was sophomore Zoe Her-
mens, whose eff orts net-
ted her a spot on the fi rst
team alongside Rachael
Stirewalt of Imbler; Mer-
sayus Hart of Nixyaawii;
Dallee Bingham of Powder
Valley; and OOL player of
the year Sophie Bronson of
Nixyaawii.
Sophie Moeller was a
second-team player for the
Cougars, and Libby Fisher
was named honorable
mention.

leading scorers. They each

The three combined for
almost 75% of the team’s
off ense. Hermens averaged
11.25 points per game,
Moeller netted 8.5 points
per game and Fisher had
6.5 points per game.
Joseph landed its top
two players on the team,
as Aimee Meyers fi nished
with a second-team nod,
and Cooper Nave was listed
as honorable mention.

a couple points shy of a
state playoff bid, but, like

saw four players recog-
nized. Sharpshooter Blade
Suto was tapped as a fi rst-

Eagle, Patrick Frisch of
Cove, Aaron Barkley and
Baron Moses of Nixyaawii,
and Kaden Krieger and
Reece Dixon of Powder
Valley, with Dixon being
named player of the year.
Imbler’s Tony Haddock
was selected as boys coach
of the year.
Chase Homan earned a
spot on the second team,
and honorable mention
went to James Burney and
Hayden Hite.
I am super proud of
all the players that made
these teams,” head coach
Olan Fulfer said. “They
worked hard to get there.
The coaches showed our
team a lot of respect with
voting four players onto
the all-league teams, and
that is rare to ever have that
many.”
Wallowa’s Willie Gibbs
rounded out his basketball
career earning honorable
mention.
“(He’s) a senior that
worked hard to get where
he ended up this year,”
Wallowa head coach Deon
Chandler said of Gibbs.
“Great young man.”
excited about (is) how the
kids can’t wait for next
season.”
Peterson’s eff ort netted
Joseph seven team points to
tie for 33rd.
Peterson ended up being
the only Wallowa County
wrestler to win a match at
state. Delapena, after a fi rst-
round bye, was pinned by
Adam Reyes of Kennedy
before the matchup against
Peterson, which saw her
fall in 2:04.
Tegan Evans suff ered a
loss by fall to Shade Starr
of Colton with just 19 sec-
onds to go in their fi rst-
round match, then ran into
district rival Reece McCo-
nnell of Elgin, who pinned
him in 3:52.
Will Ogden was handed
a fi rst-round loss by fall to
top-seed AshBlomstrom of
Toledo, then faced Clancy
Rutledge of Culver, who
eliminated Ogden with a
12-4 major decision.
And freshman Gunnar
McDowell dropped a fi rst-
round match to Tommy
Vigue of Coquille with less
than 90 seconds to go, then
was eliminated after a 10-0
major decision loss to Cam-
eron Diacetis of Regis.
“Even though we didn’t
have the tournament we
really would (have) liked
we’re still super proud of
the accomplishments of
the kids,” Enterprise head
coach Court Fent said.
Culver ran away with the
team title with 182 points,
more than 80 ahead of run-
ner-up Illinois Valley. It’s
the 13th OSAA wrestling
title won by the program.
