Enterprise 426-4511 • Joseph 432-9050 • Wallowa 886-9151 Julia Ruth Sherod 1938 —2018 Our beloved mother, grand- mother and great-grandmother, wife, sister and friend passed on Sept. 5, 2018, at 6:23 p.m. She was born Jan. 16 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Judy’s survived by her hus- band, Earl Glenn Sherod. She had seven children: Cynthia, David, Errol, Aaron, Corey, Melinda and Anthony. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat- ter-day Saints and taught 4-H Julia Ruth Sherod and Boy Scouts to all the chil- dren in the area. She fought tenaciously against the ALS that plagued her body. She died peacefully in the home where she was raised in Joseph, Oregon. Joseph will forever hold the women who taught her chil- dren and all the people who adopted her, of unconditional love and of course how to ride a horse. She bred and trained many world-class AQHA champion horses in many different events. She was also always known to give anyone a place to stay, anyone a meal, and anyone a horse lesson. Judy will be buried Oct. 20, 2018 in the Wallowa Cemetery. A celebration of life and reception will be held at the LDS church in Enterprise at 11 a.m. and the proceedings will be finalized with graveside service at the Wallowa cemetery. Bertie Lou Conrad Warnock March 20, 1932 — September 26, 2018 Bertie Lou Conrad War- nock, 86, of The Dalles, Ore- gon, died Sept. 26, 2018. Bertie was born to Archie and France (Robinson) Con- rad in Hermiston, Oregon, on March 20, 1932. Bertie lived in Oregon all of her life, residing in Klamath Falls, Union, Baker and Wallowa counties. She considered Wallowa County her home in God’s Country. Bertie attended school at Trout Creek outside of Enter- Bertie Lou Conrad Warnock prise, first grade, and at Cather- ine Creek up above Union, Oregon, and she went to Union High School. She received a GED later graduating from Oregon Insti- tute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where she received an Associate of Applied Sciences in Medical Radiologic Tech- nology. She was licensed in the state of Oregon as a diagnostic radiologic technologist in 1979. She also attended two years at Portland Community College. Bertie was a member of the Amer- ican Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Oregon Society of Radiologic Technologists. Bertie was married to Dell Long, Chester Mastrude and Bill Warnock. Bertie worked as an x-ray technician and cook. She loved gardening, canning, serving, embroidering, working, read- ing all kinds of books and being outside hunting and fishing. Bertie is survived by her daughters Patrecia Schanaman of Joseph, Oregon; Sharon Halland and Evelyn Mullins both of The Dalles, Oregon; her sister Ann Doak and husband Jim of The Dalles, Oregon; her brothers Dick Conrad and wife Barbara of Stateline, Idaho; and Larry Conrad, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, her brothers David and Jerry Con- rad, and her sister Darlene Conrad preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Wallowa Memorial Hospital x-ray department. A graveside service at the Joseph Cemetery will be Oct. 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. Bollman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
