The court’s top priority is representing 4-H at commu- nity events across the county, including the upcoming Wal- lowa County Fair. Candidates were evaluated in three cate- gories, including 4-H experi- ences, person and civic expe- riences and recommendations. She will have a dog, horse and pig in this year’s county fair. Maggie Zacharias Maggie, 15, will be a freshman this fall at Joseph High School. Her parents are Luke and Marilee Zacharias. She has been in 4-H for six years. She says 4-H has taught her responsibility. “When you have an ani- mal, you have to take care of it every day, feed and water it, work with or it won’t be a good animal or it could die,” she said.
