NOTICE IS GIVEN, the Wallowa County Board of Commis-
sioners will be conducting a hearing on Monday, April 2, 2018,
beginning at 9:30 a.m., in the Thorton Conference Room of
the Wallowa County Courthouse. This hearing will be for the
Wallowa County Community Wildfire Protection Plan amend-
ment - The proposal to amend Article 25 of Wallowa County
Zoning Ordinance to create a new Wildfire Hazard Overlay
(WHO) zone, and further amend the Wallowa County Com-
prehensive Plan – Goal VII Areas Subject to Natural Disasters
and Hazards to include wildfire hazards. The new WHO zone
criteria would replace existing wildfire hazard regulations in
Articles 16-18, 21-23, 26, 27, 38, 42 & 45-56 of the Zoning Or-
dinance Articles. Meetings and hearings are open to the pub-
lic. Those interested in attending are encouraged to do so. For
