She passed away at her home in Portland where she had lived with her friend and caretaker, Marge Hixon. Bonnie was born in Wal- lowa to Julius and Myrtle Ale- son and was raised on the fam- ily dairy farm on Hurricane Creek Road in Enterprise. Her childhood memories included watching her parents dance and Sasser attending family picnics and dinners. She graduated from Enterprise High School in 1949 and attended Kinman Business College in Spokane, Wash. She then married the love of her life, Dean Sasser, in 1953. The couple resided in Enterprise until they were transferred to Portland by Pacific Power and Light. They were blessed with three boys, Gregory Earl (deceased), Gary Aleson, who lives in Hood River with his wife Trudy, and Grant Douglas, who lives in Gresham with his wife Karen. Bonnie enjoyed family reunions and cooking for her many friends and relatives. She sent cards for all occasions and never forgot a birthday. She enjoyed supporting her sons’ ice hockey events and other sports activities while they were growing up and most recently was an avid Trailblazers fan. Her “extended family” includes Jerry and Nancy Hook and their children and her late husband’s siblings, Grant (deceased) and Ernest Sasser and Cherryl Zacharias and their families. She grew up with and was close to her Stein cousins and their families. She stayed in touch with and followed all of their lives through letters, pictures, phone calls, visits and Facebook. A memorial service will take place in Enterprise later this spring. Edith Chupp May 31, 1931 –– Jan. 27, 2018 Edith “Geanne” Chupp, 86, of Imnaha, passed away at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash. A graveside ser- vice will be held noon at the Enterprise Cemetery Saturday, Feb. 3. Geanne was born May 31, 1931, in Enterprise to Ivan and Josephine Simmons. She had two children (Naomi and Gary) with her first hus- band, Mike, who died in 1971. She married Gene Chupp Sept. 19, 1978, and he passed in 2011. Prior to retirement, Geanne worked on the ranch in Imnaha and was a housewife for many years. She later moved to Walla Walla where she sold real estate and then managed hotels. After retirement, she moved to Imnaha where she and Gene built a house on the ranch. Geanne loved sewing, spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards with her family and many friends. Geanne is survived by her daughter Naomi Maiden (Dave) and her son Gary Marks (Vicky). Geanne is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Maiden (Crystal), Katie Knighton (Mark), Michael Marks and Christina Howerton (Drew). Geanne also had seven great grandchildren: Staci, Emerson, Mack, Cooper, Ray, James and Charlie.
