A2 Announcements wallowa.com January 10, 2018 Wallowa County Chieftain O BITUARIES Heather Louise Long June 9, 1969 –– Dec. 5, 2017 Heather Louise Long, 48, of Ellensburg, Wash., joy- fully entered into the pres- ence of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior early the morning of Dec. 5, 2017. She was born in York, Pa., to Dr. Douglas and Suzanne Hess. She gave her life to her Lord in 1988, and was baptized into His Body. She enjoyed working in her father’s medical clinic. She eventually went to nurs- ing school and began work- Long ing as a nurse in Modesto, Calif., in 1993. She blessed many lives at Memorial Hos- pital in Modesto, and was known for going beyond the call of duty. She met Aaron Long in 1994 while living with Mark and Lorraine Grover. They married on Oct. 5, 1996, and served the Lord together faithfully for 21 years. Heather’s husband, Aaron Long, worked as a physician assistant at Wallowa Mountain Medical while they lived in Wallowa County August 2008-12. Heather loved Jesus and was joyfully dedicated to the ministry of the saints. She enjoyed serving others in her home and had a deep desire to impart the love of God to her neighbors, friends, brothers and sisters, patients, chil- dren and spouse. She delighted in the visible work of God in the lives of those she served, and longed to see the truth set souls free. Heather leaves her testimony of faith with her husband, Aaron, and their children, Kate, Dana, Will, Elsa and Han- nah. She is also survived by her mother, Suzanne Hess, her aunt, Virginia Hengst, and siblings, Heidi and Larry Mohler, Peter and Sharilyn Hess, Holly and David Long, HopeAnne Hess, Patrick Hess, Wendell and Marie Hess, Russell Hess and Hillary and Wade Benedict. She is also survived by Aaron’s parents, Harold and Becky Long and his siblings, Matt and Annie Long and Deborah and Scot Boone, as well as many nieces, nephews and a large and loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Douglas Hess, and an infant nephew, Clay Long. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. Naideen Willis July 7, 1925 –– Dec. 25, 2017 Naideen C. Audet Willis, 92, died in Prineville, Ore. She was born in Enterprise and considered Prineville her hometown. A graveside service was held Jan. 6, 2018, at the Enterprise Cemetery In Enterprise. Naideen was born to Charles and Sadie Willis. She spent most of her childhood in Wallowa County. She married Ray Magee in December 1944. They had four children: Charles, who died at birth, Donald, Jean and William. James died as a result of an accident in 1948. Naideen was a hardworking mother who worked for many years at the telephone company and then the hospital. With her parent’s assistance, she raised all three children as a sin- gle mother. On March 1, 1969, she married Doria Audet after many years of dating. They spent many years ranching in Wallowa County and then later in Malheur County. Naideen was a very kind-hearted, generous individual who would help anyone with anything she could her whole life. She never let anyone go without if she could help. She loved to read, cook, and spend time with family. Naideen and Doria much enjoyed helping raise the grandkids and having them in their home. Doria passed away in 2002. Naideen spent the last 14 years of her life residing with grand- daughter Jolene and husband Ben, and great-grandchildren Ron, Anthony, Kyler, Desiree and Keldon. Most of this time was spent in Prineville. Naideen is survived by her brother, Vern, three children, Donald, Bill and Jean, 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchil- dren, and seven great-great-grandchildren and their respective families. Naideen was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sadie Willis, child, Charles Magee, husband James Magee, husband Doria Audet, brothers Melvin and Robert Willis and sister Vera Bork. The event is designed to showcase the club and its efforts to make a difference in Wallowa County. “This is not a fundraiser,” said Rotary President Stephen Kliewer. “We simply want to share the Rotary vision and allow our friends and neighbors to have a terrific night out.” Admission is $15, which includes dinner, door prizes and musical entertainment by members of the club and “A Shot in the Dark,” featuring Diane Daggett, Will Wehinger, Nick Porter and John Raines. A musical presentation by club members, “Love Songs Through the Decades,” will be presented with the audi- ence given the opportunity to select the best performance. Proudly sponsored by D EATH N OTICES Wallowa Rotary plans Valentine’s ‘friendraiser’ By Jessica Shattuck W Student of the Terri Lynne Wilson Nov. 16, 1958 –– Dec. 15, 2017 Terri Lynne Wilson, 59, passed away at her residence in Baker City, Ore. A memorial service will be March 3, 2018, at the Har- vest Church in Baker City. The time of the service will be announced at a later date. Terri was born in Spokane, Wash., to Roger and Cathy (Landis) Decker. She attended Marysville High School in California and Wallowa High School, where she graduated in Wilson 1976. In 1980, Terri graduated from Eastern Oregon State College. She also attended the Uni- versity of Idaho, Oregon State University and Portland State University. In 1978, she married Warren J. Wilson in Wallowa. Terri was both an educator and a volleyball coach at the Wallowa School District, where she retired in 2011 after 30 years. Terri enjoyed traveling, camping, family time, reading and sports. She was a member of the Wallowa Assembly of God, Ore- gon Athletic Coaches Association, and Oregon Council of Teach- ers of Mathematics. Her greatest accomplishments included being awarded OSAA volleyball coach of the year in 1997 and 2002 and NFHS volleyball coach of the year in 2008, as well as coaching the Wallowa High School volleyball team to an unde- feated season and state championship title in 1997. Terri was also the OSAA Long Jump State Champion in 1976. Terri is survived by her husband, Warren Wilson of Baker City; son, Jeromy Wilson, his wife Jennifer and their sons, Jace, Joel and Jaxon of Heppner, Ore.; daughter, Amanda Johnson, her husband Brett and their sons, Emmett and Murphy of Baker City; and son, Andrew Wilson and his son, Adrian of Chandler, Ariz.
