Swap: 10 a.m. 105 NE First St.. Enter-
prise. Skis, boots, poles, snowboards,
ice skates and hockey gear. To sell your
things, drop them off between 8:30 a.m.
and 10 a.m. From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., pick up
your proceeds and unsold equipment.
Tunesmith Night: 7 p.m. Gold Room
at the Jennings Hotel, 100 North Main,
Joseph. Showcase of original music pre-
sented in a round-robin format. Admis-
sion is $10 at the door or by season pass.
Doors open at 6 p.m.

Enterprise Elementary K-6 Christ-
mas Concert: 2 p.m. in the big gym at
Enterprise High School
Qigong Meditation: 2 p.m. Josephy
Center, 403 North Main, Joseph. Emei
Qigong Meditation is an ancient Chinese
tradition of gentle movements designed
to reunite individuals with the “limitless”
emptiness from where all things originate.
Food Giveaway: Noon 204 Sec-
ond St., Wallowa, sponsored by Wal-
lowa Fresh Food Alliance. Perishable food
available.
Adult Clay Class: 9 a.m. to noon

Soup and Pie Lunch: 11 a.m. to 2
p.m. Enterprise Community Congrega-
tional Church, Enterprise. Homemade
clam chowder and chicken noodle soup,
a roll, pie and a drink all for $6. Gail Swart
will be playing Christmas songs while you
eat. The Enterprise High School Choir,
under the direction of Leslie Carlsen, will
perform at noon.
Bingo: 6 p.m. Wallowa Senior Center.
Prizes, turkeys, children welcome. Free
snacks. Sponsored by Foundation for
Wallowa Schools.
Wallowa Valley Chorale Christmas
Concert: 7 p.m. Enterprise Christian
Church on the south edge of Enterprise.
Traditional Christmas music as well as
new renditions and a few surprises.
“Casablanca:” 5:30 p.m. OK The-
atre in downtown Enterprise. Celebrating
the 75th anniversary of the film’s release.
Fundraiser for Alpenfest. Adults and teens
$10, children 12 and younger $5.
FRIDAY, Dec. 8
Enterprise Winterfest Celebration
and Parade: Store discounts and draw-
ings. Ice skating in the park 9 a.m. to 9
p.m. A wonderland Pop Up Market will
appear at the Burnaugh Building down-
town 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. featuring hand-
made, artisan goods and tasty snacks.
Snap a selfie with Santa and Mrs. Claus

A new event will be part of the Enterprise community Christmas celebra-
tion this year.
at Wild Carrot Herbals 2-4:30 p.m. and
take in the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” 6
p.m. at OK Theatre.
Wallowology Holiday Party: 10
a.m. 508 N. Main St., Joseph. Snowflake
crafts, snacks, holiday photo op in giant
birds nest. Gift Shop open. Snowflake Sci-
ence presentation, 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The Gift of Art Silent Auction: 6:30
p.m. Josephy Center, 403 North Main,
Joseph The auction and show will make a
large collection of affordable art available
to community members with half of the
purchase price dedicated to buying sup-
plies, instruction and scholarships for art
students.

fudge-making contest at Bee Charmed

Train rides noon to 5 p.m. The Enterprise
Volunteer Fire Department’s famous four-
alarm chili feed at the corner of First and
Main kicks off at 3:30 p.m. along with
Christmas karaoke with Tom Hyatt. The
annual Winterfest Lights Parade down
Main Street will be at 5:30 p.m. with
drawings for kids gift certificates and
prizes to follow. The evening will con-
clude with live music at The Range Rider
at 7 p.m.
Chili Feed and Dessert Auction:
Enterprise Elks 1829 Wallowa
County Hoop Shoot Championship:
7:30 p.m. At Enterprise High School,
Each school has a local shoot off, and
they will each advance six students.
The winners from this competition will
advance to the District Elks Hoop Shoot
in Hermiston in January 2018.
Ladies Night at Joseph Hardware: 7
p.m. 101 S. Main St., Joseph. Hors d’oeu-
vres and libations, discounts and great
deals on merchandise. Draw a card to
determine your discount amount before

O BITUARY
James Oliver Turner
Nov. 3, 1927 –– Nov. 29, 2017
James Oliver Turner of Elgin passed away peacefully Nov. 29,
2017, at the age of 90 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Nov. 3, 1927, in Union, Ore. Jim lived a full
life and loved nothing more
than his family and being in the
outdoors of Eastern Oregon.
Jim and his stories, limericks
and hugs will be deeply missed
by his family who loved him
beyond measure.
Also remembering his guid-
ance and teaching abilities are
his countless former students
who carry on his passion for
learning and striving always to
do the very best.
Jim is survived by his
devoted wife Kathryn Joyce
of 67 years, his children, grand Jim Turner
children and great-grandchil-
dren who will carry on the legacy this amazing man created.
Per Jim’s request, no funeral or services will be held. His
ashes will be spread in a few of his favorite places in Eastern
Oregon. For those who would like to make a memorial donation,
the family suggests your local school sports program through
