STAY WARM
with
Jim Collier
Feb. 18, 1953 –– Nov. 4, 2017
Jim Bob (James Patrick) Collier, 64, of Joseph, passed away
peacefully after a long-term illness Nov. 4, 2017 in Enterprise.
Jim was a 1972 graduate of Union High School. During his
time there, he was a standout athlete who went on to play col-
legiate football and baseball at Oregon Institute of Technology
in Klamath Falls and eventually semi-pro
baseball for a time.
Jim was a beloved coach, long-time
logger, rancher, avid outdoorsman, cre-
ative craftsman, hard worker and life-
long friend to many. Jim truly never met
a stranger and loved to share his larger-
than-life stories, lots of laughter, and big
heart.
He is survived by his wife Tanya,
his mother Patricia, his brother Joseph Collier
(Carol), his son JR (Lisa), his daugh-
ters Jamie (Aaron) and Crystal (Brian),
his nephew Nathan, his seven grandchildren –– Gavin, Hailey,
Ellie, Trace, Rhyson, Tori, and Brianna –– and his many foster
and adopted children, grandchildren, and family friends over
the years.
A Celebration of Life will be noon Saturday, Nov. 25, at Hot
Lake Springs in La Grande. This is a casual event –– come as
you are and share your stories. Food, a slideshow, storytell-
ing and a tour of the Hot Lake grounds highlighting the spe-
cial projects Jim worked on during his time there will be fea-
tured. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The family is also planning several ashes ceremony trips in
the upcoming year to some of his favorite outdoor places. If you
are interested in attending any of these casual events, please
plan to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Joseph
Charter School -Boys Baseball Program, P.O. Box 787, Joseph,
OR 97846.

Izzy
Brown ticked tabby female.
Izzy is approx. 18 months old.
This demanding but lovable
girl has settled right into a
household of adult male cats.
She came in and took over with
her tiny delicate frame and
huge attitude. Izzy wants to be
in a home she can settle into
and be boss of. Izzy does have
special dietary concerns and is
currently fed a grain-free natu-
ral cat food and has done well
on it. Izzy loves to be spoiled.
She has been spayed, vaccinated
and is little box trained. And
yes, she would love a spot on
your bed to cuddle up with you.
If you are interested in Izzy,
please contact Foster mom,
Cassie at 541-805-1205.
