Wallowa County Motorcycle
Thunder Run: 668 NW 1st St.,
Enterprise. Three nights (through
Saturday) of live music featur-
ing five different bands, a VIP
tent, biker games, food, drinks
and vendors. Daytime activi-
ties throughout the county are
planned, including a Poker Run.
Summer Arts Classic: 6
p.m. Enterprise. “The Geography
of Music” opens Thursday with a
reception social hour at Josephy
Center for Arts and Culture. Free
admission. View Josephy Cen-
ter’s exhibit of photographs of the
Snake River and Hells Canyon.
Friday Concert 6 p.m. at Enter-
prise Christian Church, $20 adults
and $15 seniors. Free 18 and
under. Concert of interwoven clas-
sical music, spoken word and the
visual arts, including real-time
painting inspired by the artist’s
impressions of the music. Satur-
day panel discussion, “How Does
Place Inspire Art,” Fishtrap. Free
admission. Discussion with artists,
writers and musicians exploring
how place informs and inspires
the creation of art. Refreshments

Robert S. Coffee
June 20, 1954 –– July 31, 2017
Robert (Bob) S. Coffee passed away July 31, 2017, at his home
in Joseph with his wife, Cindy, and granddaughter Sydnee at his
side after a courageous battle with cancer.
A contractor for 40-plus years, Bob was known for his eye for
detail and pride in his work in the numerous homes he had built
and remodeled in Wallowa County.
Contractors respected Bob, and that respect was shown in the
fi nal months of Bob’s life with the help they contributed in get-
ting last-minute details completed in the last two houses Bob built.
Bob enjoyed salmon fi shing in Imnaha, hunting and
gun-collecting.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and grandchildren Sydnee,
Addison, Lane, Kameron; niece Laura Ratcliff; nephew Joel Rat-
cliff and his wife Lora, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice
Coffee, and sister, Kathy Vaniman.
A celebration of life potluck will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26,
at the home of Rhonda Shirley, 64172 Dobbin Road, Joseph.

Berlyce Marjorie Payne
passed away July 30, 2017, in
Corvallis, Ore. Berlyce was
born to Thelma and Ervin
(E.C.) Storm Jan. 15, 1926, in
Enterprise. Her school years
were spent in Enterprise where
she graduated with the class
of 1944. On Oct. 27, 1950,
she married Glen T. Payne in
Baker. They were married just
short of 40 years.
Berlyce began working for Payne
First Interstate Bank in Enter-
prise in 1944 and retired from Wells Fargo Bank in California
33 years later. Glen and Berlyce moved back to Brooks, Ore., in
1977 where they enjoyed each other, trips in the camper and lots
of cards and games played with extended family and friends until
Glen passed away in 1990.
“Ber” was a master crafter and jigsaw puzzle worker. When
she moved to a Salem retirement community in 1999, she would
call Bingo, organize beanball baseball games and play more
cards. She fell in love with hot air balloons, the Wallowa Lake
Tram and bus trips to Puckerbrush and other casinos. She forever
looked forward to her class reunions in Enterprise.
Berlyce was preceded in death by her husband Glen; brothers
Bill, Bob and Elmer; grandsons Don Evans and Larry Evans and
nephew Jon Storm. She is survived by Glen’s daughter, Laura
Lee Evans, and daughter-in-law, Ann Payne; grandchildren
Ron Evans, Jan Casteel (Craig), Brad Payne (Janell), Jill Goold
(Brent) and Karen Payne; three nephews and one niece, along
with many great-grandchildren.
Final burial is planned in Wallowa County at a later date. The
family suggests memorial donations be made to the Enterprise
Cemetery Fund.

Frances Jolene (Jody) Snyder died Aug. 18, 2017, at her home
in Joseph.
She was born April 2, 1953, at Geary, Okla., to Joseph Fos-
ter and Mazelle (Cooper) Foster. They lived in Geary and Lead-
ville, Colo, as well as Colorado Springs, Colo. She attended Lake
County High School and graduated in 1971.
She was a 30-year employee of Joseph Charter School. She
enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, gardening and her fl ower beds.
Frances is survived by her husband, Jack, of Joseph; a son, Wil-
liam (BJ) Snyder of Fruitland, Idaho, and a daughter, Carrie (Tyson)
Shirley of Melba, Idaho; a brother, Al Foster of Manitou Springs,
Colo.; two sisters, Ella (Glenn) Godat of Arvada, Colo.; and fi ve
grandchildren –– Elizabeth, Tucker, Ryann, Dylan and Ryder.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jon
Foster.
A celebration of her life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug.
26 at Joseph City Park.
