Doggone it! It’s Halloween and time for
fun!
This week’s athlete of the week
is Joseph Charter School senior
Haven Johnson. Johnson, a
member of the school’s volleyball
squad had a team-high nine kills
Wednesday in a home win over
Ione in the fi rst round of the state
volleyball tournament. In addition
to those kills, she also bravely
dispatched a fi erce-looking wasp
that briefl y halted play during
Wednesday’s match in Joseph.
Johnson, 17, was also named to
the Old Oregon all-league fi rst team
along with teammate Ally Cooney
last week. She appears regularly on
the school’s honor roll.
