Queen Lauren Makin Lauren will be a senior at Joseph Charter School this fall. She is the daughter of Bryan and Kit Makin of Wallowa. Lauren has two sisters: Courtnie and Taylor. . Lauren’s hobbies include all sports, with her favorites being volleyball and basketball. She also enjoys riding and showing her horse and raising and showing cattle for 4-H and FFA. Princess Sarah Aschenbrenner Sarah will be a senior at Enterprise High School this fall. She lives in Enter- prise with her parents Chad and Cindi Aschen- brenner and younger brother Coy. Sarah’s hobbies include hunting with her dad, riding horses and developing a strong and trusting relationship with her broodmare Lucy and her babies. She has three additional strong passions in her Princess Taylor Grote Taylor will be a senior at Joseph Charter School this fall. She lives in Joseph with her parents Dennis and Julie Grote and her brother, TJ. Taylor’s grand- parents were CJD grand marshalls in 1997. Taylor is involved in 4-H horse and swine, volleyball, sotball, FFA and FCCLA. She started really riding horses at age 8. She was a member of Pony Club and then expanded her knowledge of horses Lauren’s accomplishments include being a 2015 Eastern Oregon Livestock Show princess, FFA Greenhand Treasurer/Star Green- hand/Historian/Reporter, membership in National Honors Society, sophomore class vice president and treasurer, junior class presi- dent, 4-H club president for three years. She also received 4-H county medals in both horse and livestock, 4-H Dad Potter 3 step award, and 2015 Ofensive Player in basketball. Ater high school Lauren plans to attend EOU and focus on a career as a dental hygienist. Lauren says she wanted to be a member of the Chief Joseph Days Court because she really enjoys promoting Wallowa County and the sport of rodeo. life – sports, FFA varsity basketball her freshman year, outstanding member of the Enterprise FFA Chapter for two years, member of the National Honors Society, Excellence in English II award, and re- cipient of the 4-H Dad Potter 3 step award. Ater high school Sarah is interested in Medical Imaging Technol- ogy and hopes to become an ultrasound technician. She also is in- terested in veterinary medicine. She is considering several schools: OIT in Klamath Falls, IIT in Boise or TVCC in Ontario. Sarah looks forward to being on the Chief Joseph Days court to ex- pand her horsemanship career. She is excited to interact and reach out to new people. Her time on the CJD court will be spent eagerly promoting our area, our rodeo and the sport of rodeo. by joining 4-H. She is an active member of the Nez Perce Riders 4-H horse club. She enjoys riding horses, outdoor activities, drawing and reading. Taylor has received the Champion award in 4-H presenta- tion for three years, qualiied for state 4-H Horse Fair for three years in ive or more events, 4-H Dad Potter 3 step award, class secretary during her freshman and sophomore year, member of the National Honor Society and was awarded Intermediate All Around Horse award in 2014. Ater high school, Taylor plans to attend Portland State and strive to earn a degree in physical therapy. Taylor said she wants to be on the Chief Joseph Days Court be- cause it is one of her biggest dreams. he dream that every little girl has.
