If the Friday evening open house
at Alpine Meadows on opening day
is any indication of what the 2016
golf season will garner, then the club
should be looking to an exciting year.
The April 1 weather was a Wal-
lowa County miracle. Its warmth
helped bring out scads of golfers
and non-golfers alike to enjoy the
golf course scene with samples of
barbecue ribs, pulled pork and sal-
ads from Sherri Currie’s clubhouse
menu, drinks from the bar, and
socializing. The unusual outdoor
temperature prompted Clubhouse
Manager Jimmy Bivens to unlatch
windows and open both doors to the
covered patio, which gave the club-
house interior an air of springtime
freshness and created a pleasant
mingling atmosphere.
