• The annual report of the
Enterprise public library for
the year ending December 31
shows the following: Books
purchased, 56; worn out and
withdrawn, 13; lost, 4; donat-
ed, 64. Total volumes in library,
1489. Fines received on over-
due books amounted to $23.
• To give the best service
to the many farmers who must
use butter wrappers, under the
new law, Friday of each week
will be butter wrapper day in
the Record Chieftain job shop.
Wrappers will be printed at re-
duced rates on that day only.

• The Main Street Motors
has remodeled the front end of

and stock room to a room at
the west side of the front drive-
in entrance. The space at the
Main and Depot street corner
will be the showroom for new
Ford cars and trucks.
• At the Crystal Market
extensive improvements are
under way in preparation for
the installation of a meat mar-
ket which Warren Homan will
open in the near future.
• Mr. and Mrs. Ted Tippett
have sold their business in
Wallowa, known as Ted’s club,
to Laverne Fiesterman. Mr.
and Mrs. Tippett have bought
the Pastime pool hall from Ed
Johnson and have also pur-
chased the Fred McCully res-
idence in Wallowa.
• Milford Emmons of En-
terprise and Miss Jeanette Mil-
ligan of Wallowa were married
Dec. 29 at Walla Walla. Mr.
and Mrs. Emmons opened a
sandwich and chili shop last
Saturday in the Dutli building
just west of the Rick shoe shop
