Last week The Chief-
tain published a list of local
schools’ honor rolls but left
out Joseph Junior High. Here
are the names that were omit-

Long announce their upcom-
ing wedding at 4 p.m. Satur-
day, Feb. 6 at Hubbard Chap-
el in Hubbard, Ore.
Andrew is the son of
Douglas Long of Lostine and
Bobbi and Dan Thompson of
Benton City, Wash.
He is a graduate of Wal-
lowa High School.
Kim is a Montana native.
The couple currently resides
in the Portland area.
Wayne D. Parish
July 6, 1947 to Nov. 14, 2015
Jean McFetridge Johnson
May 21, 1914 to Dec. 9, 2015
Wayne D. Parish, 68, a for-
mer resident of Ojai, Calif., and
Joseph, Ore., passed away Nov.
14, 2015, from a stroke.
Wayne was an artist, arborist
and generous man. He was born
in Flushing, N.Y. to Mickey and
Raymond Parish. He moved
to California after being dis-
charged from the Navy. He had
a tree-care business in Ojai for
many years. He moved to Ore-
gon in the early 90s and lived
there in several places until he passed. He brought joy to many
people and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Crystal, her children Gabri-
elle and Aidan, his son Scott Michael, his ex-wife Barbara, his
niece Darcy, nephew Raymond, sister-in-law Marian, and his
long-time friend Nancy and her daughters, Andrea and Whitney.
Services will be held in New York at a date to be announced.

Clara Jean Johnson, 101, of Enterprise was born May 21,
1914 in Enterprise — the daughter of Millard and Mertie “Kin-
ny” McFetridge. She died Dec. 9, 2015 at Wallowa Valley Se-
nior Living.
She attended schools on Elk Mountain and Joseph. She lived
in Wallowa County all her life. On Aug. 17, 1935 she married
Merle A. Johnson in Enterprise. To this union she had one son,
Douglas Dean Johnson, on May 28, 1938.
Jean worked at Wallowa Memorial Hospital for 36 years.
She will be remembered for her kind nature and love for dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clifford,
George, Mike and Don; sister Mildred; and son Douglas.
Jean is survived by three grandchildren: Janey Jo, Gregory,
and Lisa, all in the Salem area. Also, Gary and wife Glenda
McFetridge of Joseph, Betty and husband Gene Johnson Fox of
Milton-Freewater and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life was held Dec. 14 at the Bollman
Funeral Home with private interment at the Enterprise Ceme-
tery. Bollman Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

was born November 30, 2015 in Enterprise to Jeffery Dodd
and Ashley Hayes of Enterprise. Grandparents are
Dawn & Sam Rickert, and Denise & Jeff Staidle.
A son, Reagan Christopher Lee,
was born November 30, 2015 in Enterprise to Christopher
and Ashley Lee of Enterprise. Grandparents are
Tressa & Wayne Willson, Bob Masters, and Marcy & Tony Lee.
A daughter, Harper Kendall Mork,
was born December 1, 2015 in Enterprise to Shawn and Amy Mork
of Enterprise. Grandparents are Kathy & Scott Siebe,
and Beverly Mork.
Josephine ‘Jo’ Farris
Sept. 27, 1922 to Dec. 6, 2015
Josephine “Jo” Farris departed this life Dec. 6, 2015 in
Tumwater, Wash. She was born
Sept. 27, 1922 in Cambridge,
Idaho. She graduated from high
school in Weiser, Idaho, and at-
tended the University of Idaho
for three years. It was there she
met and fell in love with Stan-
ley Jefferson Farris, and they
married Aug. 19, l943. They
were the proud parents of two
children, Diane Marie and Rob-
ert Stanley, and Jo took on the
role of homemaker. Although
she regretted not obtaining her
degree, she made up for it by being active with the local 4-H
JURXSVDQGWHDFKLQJPHPEHUVWKH¿QHUSRLQWVRIFRRNLQJEDN
ing and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed
making clothes and costumes for her children and later making
leather moccasins for her grandchildren. She won multiple blue
ribbons at the county fair for her huckleberry jam. Jo always
loved treks to gather morels and huckleberries with her family.
She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and never
missed an opportunity to brag about them.
Jo was very active in the community and was a charter
member of the Enterprise Community Church. She also was
a member of PEO, Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society. She
enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to visit several countries
and destinations with close family and friends. She also golfed
and played a good game of bridge. She had the honor of being
Grand Marshall, along with her husband, at the Crazy Daze Pa-
rade while living in Enterprise.
Jo took pride in the fact that she was able to make a substan-
tial donation to Wallowa County Health Care Foundation, as
well as establish college accounts for her great-grandchildren.
Following her husband’s tragic death in 1995, Jo remained
in Enterprise for two years before relocating to Olympia, Wash.,
to be closer to her daughter.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband Stan; sisters Hulda
(Harry) Braden and Eleanor (Craig) Barnett; brother Johnnie
(Roeberta) Schwenkfelder; and son-in-law Phil Crow.
She is survived by daughter Diane Crow of Olympia; son
Bob (LaFaye) Farris of Boise; grandchildren Shawn (Jeff)
Dwornicki, Brian (Dena) Lewin, Brooke (Rick) Littrell and
Bryce (LeAnn) Farris; great-grandchildren Amanda and Nathan
Dwornicki, Connor and Taylor Lewin, Josee and Brett Littrell,
and Hunter and Sydney Farris; and many nieces and nephews
she adored.
Special thanks to Olympics West for taking such great, lov-
ing care of our mother/grandmother.
Memorial donations may be made to: The American Heart
Association or to your favorite charity.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Enterprise,
and she will be interred in the Enterprise Cemetery.
