Joseph next hits the road for a tournament in Culver, Ore., on Dec. 11-12. Enterprise got some bad early season news when Klint Norton, who wres- tles at 220 lbs., suffered a chipped a bone in his foot. Enterprise coach Troy Far- well said Norton will miss six to eight weeks. But the coach of the host team was pleased with the Outlaws’ overall perfor- mance and the event in general. “The meet had a few more kids this year, which is nice to see,” Farwell said. “The tournament went well for us, but having three kids in one weight class means they have to wrestle each other, and a couple of them did. It was good to see what our young kids need to work on and where we need to try to get them.” The Outlaws’ next meet is the Muilenburg Tourna- ment in La Grande on Dec. 11-12. Wallowa coach Mel Byers liked what he saw from his three-member team — all freshman. “We placed pretty well,” Byers said. “I was well pleased considering we only had three wrestlers. 1. Beckman wrestles in the 106 lbs. weight class even though he weighs in at just 95 lbs. At the Enterprise Kickoff Tournament on Dec. 4, Beckman won his weight class, pinning all three of his opponents in the opening minute in each of his three bouts. JCS Coach Tim Kiesecker said he expected Beckman to wrestle at State this year. “He weighs only 95 pounds, and at his class, 11 pounds makes a lot of difference in muscle mass. He’s really tough and serious about wrestling,” he said. Beckman is the son of Misty Beckman of Joseph. STEVEN BECKMAN Proudly Sponsored By: Eastern Oregon’s Full Service Propane Supplier 201 E.
