Summer reading programs packed with fun By Kathleen Ellyn Wallowa County Chieftain The summer reading program is about to launch across the valley and events, reading goals, prizes and celebrations of all kinds are planned. Here are the various programs city by city: Enterprise Public Library Mon. – Thurs., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. • Kindergarten – Sixth Grade: Sign up at the Enterprise Public Library any time after June 9. Set an independent reading goal. As you read toward your goal, turn in pages or hours read to earn prizes. Earn small items quickly in the “Library Store” or save throughout the summer for more expensive rewards. Participate during any open library hours. • Seventh Grade – Twelfth Grade: Visit the library each week. Find hidden item and sign up for the weekly drawing held each week from June 10-July 24. Each week one lucky teen wins $10’s in buckskin bucks. • For Preschool Families: Moms and dads set a read aloud goal for your family this summer.
