This comment period is combined with the scoping period described in 36 CFR 220.4(e) and 40 CFR 1501.7. The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest proposes to restore a short section of North Pine Creek adjacent to Forest Road 39 near the North Pine Rest Stop. The purpose of the project is to reduce the risk of slope failure and impacts to the road at that site. The project area would affect approximately 2.6 acres, and is approximately 1150’long by 100’wide. The project is located 55 miles southeast of Joseph, Oregon in Wallowa County, T7S, R47E, section 2. The comment period is expected to start on February 25, 2015 and will end 30 calendar days after that date.
