Avalanche
beacon
class slated
Wallowa Avalanche Cen-
ter is hosting an avalanche
beacon class from 10 a.m. to
noon on Saturday, Jan. 10, for
ongoing learning lessons at
Salt Creek Summit Snopark.
No sign-up is necessary.
The center conducts the
class regardless of weather,
but participants can warm
up in the community build-
ing. Attendees should bring
their own beacon, shovel, and
probe. The group will work on
beacon practice and shovel-
ing techniques in the snopark
area. Get to know your own
beacon with lots of practice.
No snowshoes or skis are
needed, but good snowboots
are essential and possibly
