Walter Dukes' iron-clad defense job on Wayne Embry was the key as the Pistons beat the Cin cinnati Royals, 112-111, Tuesday night while Johnny Kerr held Wilt Chamberlain to 29 points and out-rebounded him, 22-20, en abling the Syracuse Chiefs to top the Warriors, 106-99. JTJ&i Sporfsmen plan rifle f raining program The Deschutes County Sports- mens Association, in cooperation with the city recreation depart ment and Oregon Game Commis sion, is currently planning a jun ior rifle training program. Directors will meet 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the city commission room of the Bend city hall to kick off the program. All qualified rifle instructors are urged to attend the meet The training program is for boys and girls 17 and under who must have obtained a hunting safety certificate in order to obtain a li cense by next fall. Adults are also urged to take the rifle training program so they may act as instructors in the fu ture. "While lots of youths have been ti ained. there are still lots more who haven't," Francis Stokes berry, an official of the sports men's group, said today. "Con siderable interest has been shown in obtaining this program."
