To claim an individual an a de pendent on your federal return, there are five general tests which should be considered: 1. RELATIONSHIP In general, lhe dependent claimed must be closely related to you. This rela tionship may include: Your child, or children's descendants (legally adopted child is considered a child by blood); stepchild (but nbt his descendants); your brother, sister. half-brother, half-sister, stepbroth er or stepsister; your parent. It is also possible to claim a cousin who, during the year, re ceived, institutional care for a physical or mental deficiency but who was a member of your house hold prior to such iasiiiutionat care. 2. SUPPORT The individual claimed as a dependent generally must receive more than one-half his support from you. A recognized, . supervised, full-time on-far m training course can qualify, but not night school train ing while working days, nor cor respondence courses, nor other on job training courses. 4. QTIZENSir.P AND RESI DENCE Tiie o'i" dent must qualify under specific provisions of law concerning citizenship and residence. He must be a citizen or resident of this country, oi resident of Canada, Mexico, the Canal Zone, or the Republic ot Panama. A person living outside any of these boundaries must be a citizen of the U. S. to quality as a dependent. 5. JOINT RETURNS The de pendent must not file a joint re turn with his or her spouse. Each qualification must be fully met as applied to each individual claimed, except as specifically pro vided in the foregoing tests. Doctors Revive Frozen Infant WASHINGTON (UP) An aban doned live-week-oli 1 baby boy. brought back to life after hospital doctors had pronounced him frozen to death, remained on the "criti cal" list ladny. The tiny baby was found yester day morning on -the doorstep of Cathleen Weber. She told police she stepped out of her front door to bring in the paper and "there he was." T'le infant was rushed to the District of Columbia General Hos pital. Its temperature had dropped to 73 degrees, over 25 degrees be low normal. Doctors said the in fant did not have any heart beat.
