Frankfurter Witches Fun For Kids' Halloween Party Hallowe'en's coming up a day just made fop fun for the small fry. One certain way of insuring good times is having a "Weeny Witch" party for the youngsters. As every mother knows, at any children's party the food, natural ly, is the big come-on. Table de corations thrill them too, especially on such an occasion as Halloween when Imaginations can run riot, each "Weeny Witch," take b'ack simple to decorate that with little supervision from you, even the smallest children can share in making their own decorations. Here's how you go about it: Us ing a frankfurter as the body for ech "Weny Witch", take black crepe paper to form a simple witch's hood and cut a circle of the black for her cape. Orange crepe paper fringed and tied to a pipe cleaner can serve; as a broom for her to ride. Use another pipe cleaner to attach each witch to a large platter which can serve us a centerpiece for the table. Fill the center of the platter with min iature pumpkins made from large carrots using cloves for the eyes, nose and mouth. For the meal itself why not teach the hot dog new tricks? Split them lengthwise and fill with a variety of relishes or treats, then broil. Fruited Beet Stew I (Yield: 4 generous wrvliiK) I One and one-half pounds bone- less beef chuck, 2 teaspoons kit-! chen bouquet, 2 teaspoons salt, teaspoon pepper, V cup fat, cup diced onion, 2 bouillon cubes, 2 brown sugar, 1 tablespoon imonj juice, 4 medium carrots, 4 med-! ium potatoes, 16 largo prunes,! pitted. ! Cut beef into 2-inch cubes and place in mixing bowl. Sprinkle with a mixture of kitchen bouquet, 1 teaspoon salt, and pepper, tossing to coat meat evenly. Melt fat in: Dutch oven, or heavy saucepan, ! over moderate heat. Add meat and brown quickly on all sides. Add diced onion and cook for 2 minutes, stirring once or twice. Combine bouillon cubes with water brown sugar and lemon juice and add to meat. Cover, bring to boil and simmer for about 1 hour. Add prunes, remaining teaspoon salt and prepared carrots and po tatoes cut Into medium lengthwise pieces. Add a little more water if necessary. Cook for 30 minutes tender-crisp. This is delicious re heated the next day. TOMORROW'S DINNER: Fruit ed beer stew, heated garlic bread, butter, cabbage salad, molded grape and pineapple gelatin, nut ted cookies, coffee, tea. milk.
