The Buffalo received nrst class honor rating- for the fourth con secutive time from the National Scholastic Press association. The paper w.as judged on .make-up, con tent, coverage, editoriais, photos-' raphy, sports coverage, and typog raphy. The latter two were rated "excellent." A note attached to the rating stated that the expert guidance of E, H. Hiilis, 'journalism instructor, and conscientious work of the staff is a real credit to such a small school as Madras high. From the Quill and Scroll Criti cal Service, the White Buffalo re ceived the "A" award or Interna tional" Honor rating. The paper was judged on infor mation offered, influence on read ers, entertainment offered, and use of the paper as a business en terprise. A comment accompanying the rating was, "The While Buffalo is unique in scholastic journalism. : You are providing outstanding service to school and community."
