Plans Made to
Feed Delegates
Special to The Bulletin
REDMOND Plans for feeding
the hundreds of delegates who will
be in Redmond July ft to 30 for
the annual American legion de
partment convention appear to be
well in hand from the report giv
en Tuesday night to the conven
tion commission board of direc
tors by Hugh Hartman who heads
up the feeding committee. Local
restaurants will be supplemented
by cafeterias set up In several
places in Redmond especially for
the convention. They include John
Tuck school cafeteria and proba
bly Westminster haU and Red
mond grange hall. '
Commission chairman Robert
Tull presided at the meeting Tues
day night in convention headquar
ters. The group welcomed Felix
Duke of Coos Bay, Commander of
helpful suggestions or convention
the post there.. He offered some
planning from his experience as
member of the host post last year.
Harold Clapp reported the com
mission has the concession for
sandwiches and coffee at the air-
base on Armed Forces Day, May
21. Profits will go toward conven
tion expenses.
It was suggested that a colorful
stencil greeting on windows of
stores and business places would
be- preferable to printed cards.
Cecil Tull, street decora
tions chairman, and his commit
tee will carry on this project.
There were 12 present, Including
Mrs. Marion Taylor and Mrs. J.
Wesley McDowell, co-chairman for
the Auxiliary convention commis
sion. Mrs. McDowell reports that
plans tor the women s activities
are going forward smoothly, as in
dicated by chairmen at a meet
ing Monday night in Legion hall
