" a HL, ''fcyn' j Meeting Planned By Ladies Aid Special lo The Bulletin EASTERM STAR Ten women and three children attended the regular meeting of the Grange Hull ladies' aid Thursday after noon at the home of Mrs. Nolan Turner. They will meet again on May 12 with Mrs. Frank MeCon- nell. Mr. and Mrs. Ole Olausen of Terrebonne, former residents of the community, left Friday morning by bus for Portland where they were to make the trip to New York by train and from there leave by boat for Norway, for an extended stay with relatives and friends. Mrs. A. Llndman of Seattle is visiting with Mrs. Elizabeth Wal ters for a few days. She arrived by bus from the northern city Monday evening. Gail' and Larry Bright Jr. and their father L. C. Bright and Ros alie Welbourn, have all been ill this week with flu. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Keyte and family of Salem spent the week end visiting with his mother, Mrs. Howard Hyde, and his brother, Alvin Keyte, and their families. They helped Alvin Keyte with the remodeling of his new home on Eagle road. Gail Bright was honored last Friday on her tenth birthday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Lawrence Bright. Members of the Happy Cooks 4-H club were guests, Mrs. Eugene Fitzgerald is a pa tient in the St. Charles Memorial hospital where she is receiving treatment. She was admitted on Monday afternoon. Mrs. A. Llndman and Mrs. M. Charlesworth of Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hitchcock, and Mrs, Elizabeth Walters were dinner guests at the F. W. Wells home Wednesday evening. Election Date Change Reported Special to The Bulletin MADRAS The Metolius School District No. 30 election of a $75, 000 bond issue, originally set May 5, has been postponed due to a typographical error in the notice of the election, school officials re port. The election is tentatively planned May 16 at the Metolius grade school, from 2 to 8 p.m, Purpose of the issue is to obtain funds to construct a four room addition to the existing school and to install a complete heating plant for the entire building. Jefferson Maps Library Plans Special to The Bulletin MADRAS Drawings and plans for the proposed Jefferson county library will be drawn up free by D. W. Hilburn, Vancouver, Wash. architect, it was announced follow ing a recent meeting of the Jef ferson County Library association and the Madras Kiwanis club rep resentatives. Hilburn will prepare a set of plans for the proposed 32 by 50-; foot block building, so that it may; be constructed most economically; and so that room additions may be made later. I Those present at the meeting in cluded Hilburn, Walter McCaulou, Kiwanis club president, Martha Ross of the library group, and Sumner Rodriguez and Adrian Smith, Kiwanians.
