Nourishing Soup-Mates New Idea for Luncheon These just - before - spring days, I when it's still cold but the green is coming, back in the grass, you'll want light but lilting lunches that are warm and nourishing, as well. Try soup mutes two or more kinds of canned soups blended to gether for enticing flavor. It's fun to serve these combina tion soups in mugs. A good blend is chicken gumbo and chicken rice, served with hot dogs, ham burgers, pickles and onions. Teen agers will wolf down this fare, and so will the grown-ups. There are many other soup mate tricks. Here are some meatless combinations green pea and to mato; vegetarian vegetable and cream of celery; clam chowder and green pea; tomato and cream of celery. For an unusual luncheon, try heating clam chowder with cream of celery. Serve with mixed green salad and assorted hot breads. C hicken Corn Chowder (Serves 6) i One large onion, chopped; 2 ta blespoons butter or margarine, 1 can (l',4 cups) condensed cream of celery soup, 1 soup can milk, 2 cans (2 cups) cream-styled corn (No. 2 can), 1 can (1!4 cups) con densed chicken noodle soup, 1 ta blespoon chopped parsley, dash black pepper. Cook onion in butter or marga rine until soft. Blend in cream of celery soup and milk. Stir until smooth. Add remaining ingre dients. Heat, but do not boil. Top this chicken chowder with hard-cooked eggs and serve for Sunday night suppers with salad, hot biscuits, fruit and cheese. TOMORROW'S DINNER: Have creamy clam chowder (canned clam chowder and cream of cel ery), crackers, fluffy mushroom omelet, bultered beans, hot bis cuits or rolls, applesauce pie with whipped cream on top, coffee, tea, milk. . .
