Dies at Age 67
Nellie Smith Bvbee. 67. riled
Tuesday at St. Charles Memorial
Hospital, where she had been a
patient for the past two weeks.
She had been in ill health for
some time, '
Mrs. Bvbee was a -nativp nf
Morgan county, Utah, and had
been a Bend resident for nine
months. She made her home with
her son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. C. W. Smith.
In addition to Mrs. Smith, she
leaves another dauehter. Mrs.
John Jensen of Emmet t, Ida., and
a loster sister, Nettie May Bybee
of Menan. Idaho. There are two
grandchildren. ,
The body was accomDanied to
day to Rigby, Ida., where services

Man Held After
Alleged Beating
'When Belford M. Buckley, a rail
road man,' entered a local restau
rant last night and ordered a steak
just like the one which had been
served to the patron next to him
at the counter, he got a few punch
es in the jaw from the man who was
enjoying the juicy steak, he report
ed to county officials this morning.
The patron who didn't want Buck
ley to eye his partly eaten steak
with hungry eyes was James Lcmp
ke, former beer tavern owner.
Lempke was arrested this morning
on a charge of assaulting Buckley
and is held under $50 bond for
trial before Justice of the Peace
Olc W. Grubb. Buckley, claims he
was badly beaten by Lempke for
no reason at all.

iff Ralph Jordan and State Po
lice Officer Vernon Boyer.
