City attorney Carl Helm has advised the city comm.ssioneis that stale election laws prohibit registered voters casting straw ballots simultaneously with pri mary election voting. Helm said straw votes could not be held within 50 feet of polling places on election days. Frank Swanzy, 74, Taken by Death Frank Swanzy, 74, a native of Princeton, III., and a resident of Bend for the past six months, died yesterday at St. Charles hos pit il, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks. Mr.' Swanzy made his home at 1220 South Third street. His son, Ed ward A. Swanzy, operates the Pine Tree auto court in Bend. Mr. Swanzy was preceded in death by his wife. Maude, last December 3. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Walter Brown, of Vlda; Mrs. Ella Yarrington, of Putnam, III.; Harold S. Swanzy, of Wapella, 111., and Edward A. Swanzy, of Bend.
