Bessie Peterson, who was ill in Portland for several weeks, is at her home in Redmond. Al Simonsen returned to Red mond Saturday, after having spent the week near John Day on business for the Tri-County. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Puffer and family spent the week end in Sa lem visiting relaitves. They re turned home Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hagerty have wmined from their honeymoon and are at home on the Hagerty ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rippen and sons from Cambridge, Ida., spent last week with Mrs. Fran ces Rippen and daughter, Betty. They plan to spend this week with friends. . ( The Lutheran Ladies have scheduled a food sale April 15 at ihe Coast to Coast store. Mr. and Mrs. Soren Simonsen were hosts to Mr. and Mrs. Al Simonsen and son,, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Simonsen and family at dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wilson and daughter, Margie; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Liska and daughter, Nor ma, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Cowden and children, Dick and Barbara, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley McCulloch and family. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford McCul loch were Saturday night callers at the home of McCulioch's par ents at Tumalo: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Naff have been spending the spring vaca tion in central Oregon. Naff, a student at Northwest Christian college, has been conducting the song services at the Bend Chris tian church the past week. Sun day Mr. and Mrs. Jack Naff, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Naff and David Welch were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Griffith. Mrs. Art Stevens from the Trail Crossing ranch is in Portland for a physical check-up. She is visit ing relatives during her stay. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Carsey of Vancouver, Wash., are guests of Mrs. Carsey's brother and sister-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Darrell Sharp, this week. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Sharp and Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Ellis of Wil lamette arrived here Monday night to spend several days with Mr. and Mrs. Darrejl Sharp and family. Miss Janet Boone and Richard Galvez have returned to Whittier, Calif., where they are attending Whittier college, after spending the spring vacation with Mrs. Irene Boone and Mrs. Richard. Galvez. . ; . i Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Redde kopp, who were called to St. Marys, Ida., last week to attend the funeral of an uncle, report ed for their class work at Red mond Union high school Monday morning. Miss Donna Berry was a house guest at the W. R. Orlcbeke home ! last week. Miss Berry's home is i in Portland. ,. I Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Orlebeke ; made a trip to Portland Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Kelsey and (laughter, Jackie, were among the Redmond residents who at-, tended the root festival at Warm Springs Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peden and ; family of Portland visited rela-, lives and friends here last Week. They have returned to their i home. Mr. and Mrs. Max Otey of Coos Eay arrived in Redmond Friday to visit Mrs. Oley's moth-1 er, Mrs. Ada Clark, and her sis ter, Miss Betty Coleman. Miss Thelma Brenner accompanied the Herbisons on their Sunday calling trip. Miss Brenner, whose home : is in Indiana, is attending North-1 west Christian college in Eugene. She spent the Easter holidays with the Herbisons. j Redmond Group Holds Meeting Redmond, April id (Special) The Tu.xis, the senior Westmin ster Fellowship "group, met in Westminster hall Sunday night for their weekly services. The Faith and Life commission, head ed by Ellen Stacy, had charge of me meeting. Next Sunday the Redmond young people will join with those from Bend, Prinevllle and Tumalo at Tumalo for their lesson und social hour. Those from Redmond will plan the en tertainment and furnish the sal ad for the potluck dinner. The groups from Ihe other churches will furnish food and skits. Trans portation will be provided. Walter Stauffacher Jr., who has been spending the spring va cation with his parents In Red mond, returned to Salem Monday. Stauffacher is a low student at Willamette university. Miss Rosellu Landaker has been visiting relatives in Redmond the past several days. She attended a dinner for little Rickey Hinman, who was celebrating his second birthday anniversary Sunday at his home. Others guests at the Hinman home for Sunday dinner were Mr, and Mrs. L. W. Franks and Mrs. Franks' parents from Bend. , Mr. and Mrs. Axei Anderson and family were Sunday after noon callers ,at the John Poppc home near Terrebonne. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Brockett have returned from several days spent in Washington and Idaho. They are at home on a ranch in the Powell Butte vicinity. Joe McMurry attended the root festival at Warm Springs Sun day. Monte Bean of Lebanon spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. iloyd Shanks. ' . Mr. 'and Mrs. Dick Brandsma and son, Denny, were Sunday din ner guests at the home of Mrs. Kuby Allen. Mrs. Hrandsma and Lorraine Allen were classmates at Redmond high school. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schauer of Myrtle Creek spent from Fri day until Monday with Mrs. Schauer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Judd Bourland. While in Red mond the Schauers called on Mrs. Schauers' uncle and uunt, Mr. and Mi's. Joe McMurry. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Houk and Mr. and Mrs George Harford at tended the root festival at Warm Springs Sunday afternoon. Jozsef Steurer and the Misses Grace and Gladys Pauls of Salem were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Pauls. The guests arrived Saturday morning and left for their homes in Salem Sunday evening. Mr. und Mrs. Pauls complimented them with a family dinner Sunday. Miss Eileen Swift, who has spent the last few weeks in Port land visiting relatives, returned to her home Friday. Mrs E. A. Bussett spent the first few days of last week in Redmond at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Stauffer. She re turned to her home In Powell Butte Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hapner were Thursday evening guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Pauls. The group played canasta during the evening. Mw and Mrs. C. W. Dykstra have recently moved to Redmond from Salem. Their daughter, Mary Jean, entered the sopho more class at Redmond high school Monday. R. Stanard has been confined to his home because of illness for the past several days. Mr. and Mrs. George Bailey en tertained a group of friends at an Easter dinner. The guest list In cluded Mrs. H. F. Hansen, Mrs. John Wilde and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Lowe of Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Knorr and son. Bill, were Sunday dinner guests at the George Bailey home. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Johnson and daughters, Joan and Flor ence, went to Monument over the week end to visit Mrs. Johnson's parents, Mr. and Mi's. H. A. Emery. Mrs. L. B. Yates and Mrs. Kay Naff sponsored an Easter egg hunt Saturday afternoon at the Powell Butte church for members of the primary department.
