Paleontologists have Identified remains of rhinos found in this area as taleoceros, a large mammal of pliocene days. Two different finds of rhinos have been reported In the area. To meet a credit requirement, these high school girls joined on the Deschutes Geology club's re cent trip into the Gateway region.
