Class "B" Competition Paced By Owl Taxi Bowlers Sunday The King Cole Keglers for the second consecutive year won the annual Bend Womens City Bowling association tournament held Sunday at the Deschutes alleys. In winning : class A crown, the King Cole Keglers rolled a high series total of 2507 pins. In class B competition, Owl Taxi Keg lers, with a high series of 2661, walked off with tourney honors. Runner-up In class A play was Freeman's Tackle with a score of 2366, and in class B, Heath's Ice Cream, with a score of 2530. The champions of the A doubles were Blanche Calder and Muriel Dubois with a high series score of 1042. Class B doubles were cap tured by June Stein and Kitty Arnold witn a total of 1061 pins to their credit. Runners-up were Evelyn McKay and Edna Roats in the class A division, and Peggy Malone and Bernlce Olson in the B classification. Jean Wallin was crowned singles champion in A competition with a high series of 55t. Following her closely was Frances Aleshire with 549. Individual honors in class B were captured by Helen Haggin with 606, followed by Bernlce Jensen with 560. For the third successive year, Arline Cundell was all-events A champion with a high series of 1476. Runner-up was Olga Norcott with 1431. In class A, the all-events champion was Helen Haggin with a series score of 1270. Kitty Origgs followed close on her heels' with a 1261 total. ' , Bovling (Continued front Page 7) G. A GENERAL MOTOM VALUE The Veterans of Foreign Wars post No. 1643 will send its bowl ing team to Gresham this next week-end to enter the V. F. W. state tournament. This is the sec ond year of the tournament, but the first time that the Bend post has entered a team. The team from Bend is cap tained by Bill Sclken, who has chosen the following men to go along with him: Ned Douglass, Everett Todd. Morlev Madden, Don Ratliff and Mike Englehardt. Selken and Englehardt will bowl doubles as will Douglass and Madden, and Todd and Ratliff. The Bend post will put in its bid to hold the next year's tourna ment in Bend, at the Cascatle bowl. The V.F.W. has two teams tins year, each bowling in a dif ferent league; one bowls on Tues day night in the Civic leaeue. and the other in the Cascade Men's league on Friday nights.
