March Compared
To Lamb, in Bend
March came In like a chilled
lamb this morning, following a
night of sub-freezing tempera
ture and, so members of the
groundhog school of lWig-i-ange
forecasters say, the month will
go out like a lion.
But regardless of the month's
ending, March was oil to a per
fect start this morning with the
sun, only a few weeks distant
from the vernal equinox point,
swinging toward the white Cas
cades through an unclouded sky.
The day -was being recorded, at
least up until noon, as the first
"100 per cent clear day" of the .
year.
The minimum temperature in
Bend last night was 24 degrees,
with the mercury resting at that
mark at sunrise.
