miners refused to return to their
pits.
Some of those who had bought
the rails last week on the belief
the mines would resume sold to
day. Prices declined fractions' to
more than a point and other sec
tions of the market declined mod
erately with the carriers. Rails
made a new high since Nov. 8,
1948 on Saturday.
Traders turned their attention
to special issues and groups. Elec
trical equipments were given a
whirl and the leaders maue new
highs when Westmghouse Elec-
