Westminster Fellowship group met Sunday night in Westminster hall to enjoy a movie on Rome. Miss Lois McLauchlin was in charge of the program. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Stalling.? and children, Kay, Ronnie and Richard, of Cobum, Ore., were guests of Mrs. Clara Stacy and her daughter, Ellen, over the week end. The council members of the Youth Fellowship group of the Community Presbyterian church conducted the church services at both Redmond and Tumalo Sun day morning. Goldsborough, 48, who bossed confessed communist spy courier Whittaker Chambers, had no reason for Jumping to his death from a Manhattan sky scraper, his wife said today. Goldsborough, a wartime coun ter-spy and nephew of Federal judge T. Alan Goldsborough of Washington, u.u., piungea irom his ninth floor office in Rocke feller center lastn ight, striking a passerby in his fall. Mrs. Goldsborough said her husband who became a free-lance writer after leaving Time, never was involved in the Alger Hiss oeriurv trial at which Chambers, his chief assistant when he was Time foreign affairs editor, was the key government witness. She said his fall "must have been an accident," but police found two notes, one In his pock et and the other, torn to shreds, in the office wastebasket. Toastmasters Plan Contest Bend Toastmasters meeting last night at the Trailways Cof fee shop accepted a report oi a nominating committee, heard a discussion of plans for the district speech contest and joined in a program of table topics and short addresses. Principal speakers and their subjects were Gail Baker, "Special Days"; Ralph W. Craw ford, "American Literature," and Clarence Bush, "Area Speech Con test." Max Millsap presided, with Bob Thomas as toastmaster. Nominated to serve as officers in the coming year were Max Millsap, president; Gifford Briees, vice-president; George Simervllle, secretary - treasurer; Harry Drew, sergeant at arms and Dr. Bradford N. Pease, depu ty governor. Dr. Pease is retiring president of the club. Plans for the district speech contest, with Redmond, Madras and Bend taking part, will be made later In the week. Redmond D.A.R. Holds Meeting Redmond, Feb. 15 Mrs. Alda McMickle, local regent of the Daughters of the American Rev olution, led a discussion on world government at a D.A.R. meeting Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. R. Roberts. A report was made on hides that had been col lected locally and sent to the Ce lilo Indians in January. It was announced that the In dians are badly in need of cloth ing and organizations interested in sending clothing to the Indiana should contact Mrs. McMickle. Delegates elected to attend the state conference are Mrs. Mc Mickle, Mrs. J. R. Roberts, Mrs. G. A. Edwards, Mrs. R. N. Elliott and Mrs. Frank McDonald. State officers will be elected at the con ference which will be held in Cor vallls March 26. The next meeting of the local group will be on March 13'at the home of Mrs, Dean Van Matre.
