Square' Dancers
Will Swing Out
To "Live Music"
A band of square-dance musi
cians who choose to call them
selves "Claude Cook and His Corn
Poppers" will be on hand both
Wednesday and Thursday eve
nings, for square dance frolics at
the Eastern Star grange hall.
. The dancers are not called
"Claude Cook and His Clod-hoppers,"
in spite of the temptation
to make a rhyme. The Wednes
day nighters, composed of com
bined groups that have been
dancing either for several months
or more than a year, adopted the
name "Stomp and Strut" club.
The Thursday night group, or
ganized some two months ago,
has been named "Boots and Bus
tles." With travel conditions normal
again, and "live music" in pros
pect, large crowds are expected
both evenings. The blight square
dance costumes of many of the
couples will add true western
color. Dancing will start each
evening at 7:30; with Cook as instructor-caller.
Members of the orchestra are
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jorgenson,
Mrs. Claude Cook, Richard Ar
mony and Walter Foote.
The square dance program is
sponsored by the city recreation
department. Last week, both
groups met at the 'Pine Forest
grange hall, because the parking
area at the usual meeting place
was obstructed by snow.
