A, Baker was seated as worthy matron, and Baker as worthy patron, of Eastern Star chapter No. 109, Monday evening at the Masonic temple. Other installing officers included: Mrs. H. D. Hamilton, assisting marshal; Mrs. W. A. Hunnell, installing marshal; 3Irs. C. C. iayior, chaplain; Mrs. J. S. Grahlman, secre tary, and Mrs. Eugene Buck num, organist. Frank Davis was flag bearer, and Mrs. F. H. Paine and Mrs. Gien Phil lips were pages. Pythian Sisters Plan v Installation, Meeting Members of Pythian Sisters served refreshments following the Knights of Pythias meeting Mon day evening. Mrs. R. D. Ketchum was chairman of the committee in charge, assisted by Mrs. Ole Nordstrom, Mrs. Cecil Hoiiins head and Mrs. F, N. Van Matre. The Sunshine club of the lodge met last Tuesday. at the home of Mrs. V. P. Anderson and made plans for installation Jan. 19. Mrs. M. B. Smiih presided at the meet ing. Next meeting will be Feb. 14, at the home of Mrs. Hazel Eades, 256 Delaware. Masonic hall, S54 Broadway, with the first to be held Saturday eve ning, Jan. 14, beginning at 8:30. Caller will bexCiaude Cook, who will give instructions for begin ners. There will be a small fee to defray expenses of the party,' officers announced. Guild Plans Wissenbachs Reception Members of the parish of Trin ity Episcopal church will welcome their new rector, Rev. Fred C. Wissenbach, and Mrs. Wissen bach, at a reception to be held Sunday from 8 to 10 p.m.,- In the parish hall. Members of the worn- ea's guild will be hostesses. On the committee in charge are Mrs. A. A. Symons, Mrs. W, E. Chand ler, Mrs. H. A. Miller, Mrs, Frank Prince and Mrs. J. W. Taylor. Rev. Wissenbach was bom in Germany near Frankfurt on the Mam. He received his education at Heidelberg and in Paris at the University of Saarbonne. He came to America at the age of 24, and attended Virginia Theological seminary at Alexandria. Me has servecUboth in the mission field and in parishes in Wyoming and Oregon. Mrs. Wissenbach Is a native Texan. The couple met when Rev. Wissenbach was in charge of a mission in the western part of Texas. They were married in 1920. For three years, from 1932 to 1935, Rev. and Mrs. Wissenbach and their two daughters were in Munich, Germany, where the cler gyman was in charge of the American church, only English speaking church in the city. Rev. Wissenbach is an accomp lished artist, and an exhibit of his paintings was held in Bend last year, when he was serving the Episcopal parish in Klamath Fails. Academy of Friendship, Women of the Moose, will meet Wednes day, January 18, at 7:30 p.m., at the home of Mrs. Jay Rhodes, 1469 Elgin. Mrs. M. L. Marry will be co-hostess. Members were askeii to bring their finished handwork for the eikiar chest project, Four Appointed By Club Directors Mrs.- Gordon Randait was ap- pointed to serve as first vice-: president of the Jaycee auxiliary, and three committee chairmen were named, at a meeting of the directors, held Monday evening at the home of Mrs. C. Ralph Lino, president. Mrs. Randall will replace MrsJ Eric Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Peter son and their three-month-old son, Kenneth, will leave later this month for Boston, Mass. For the past year, Peterson has been ad ministrative assistant for Pacific Trailways. Chairmen named include Mrs. Donald A. Dyer, new members; Mrs. R. K. Temple, scrapbook, and Mrs. Frank Blake, publicity. Plans were made for a cooked food sale, to be held January 2S at O'Donneli's market. CE Union to Meet In Sisters Soon The Sisters Christian Endeavor society will be host to all, Chris tian Endeavoi societies of Central Oregon, at a special rally to be held Monday, Jan. 16, at. the Sis ters Church of Christ; The monthly executive meeting of the Central Oregon CE union wiil be held the same evening, with the union president. Warren Henry, in charge. Guest speaker for the evening will be Mrs. Ralph Zeigler, who was formerly a missionary to China. Special music will be pro vided, and the opening song ser vice will start at 7:30 p.m. AH youth groups in central Oregon will be welcome to attend the rally, it was announced. Square Dance Set For Country, Club Members of the Bend Golf club are joining In the current revival of square-dancing, with an eve ning of artner-swincine to be "held once each month at the Coun try club. The first of these par ties is scheduled for Saturday night, Jan. 21, with dancing to start at 8:30. Claude Cook will be Instructor-caller, and an old time orchestra will provide music.
