city council yesterday announc
ed formulation of a policy for
bidding the erection of billboards
along its main streets.
Seveial applications had been
filed with the council requesting
permission to erect 12 by 26 foot
boards In the city.
In announcing the new policy,
officers of the council said that
the billboards, If permitted, not
only would be unsightly but they
would create a traffic hazard to
motorists.
