Minson was hostess to the Sorosis club Wednesday, the organization's potluck turkey dinner and annual Christmas par ty and gift exchange. There were 15 members present. The next meeting will be a birthday party Sot those members whose birth days are In October, November or December. There also will be election of officers. The meeting Is to be held at the home of Mrs, S. D. Mustard, Redmond, on Jan uary 11. Mr. and Mrs. George Boak and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Blackwell were church members who at tended the play "Sickle or the Cross" at the Community Pres byterian church in Redmond Sat urday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kissler are parents of an 8 pound 4 ounce son born Friday night, December 18, at the Prineville General hos pital Mr. and Mrs. Ed Copeland are parents of a 6 pound 11 ounce daughter born Tuesday, Decem ber 13. at the Medical-Dental hos pital in Redmond. The baby has been named Betty Ellen. Ramona and Tanya Rickman entered the second grade of the local school . Monday morning. coming here from the Ochoco Rrade school In Prineville. Koliert and Tommy Rickman entered the third and fourth grades, and I.loy Mcltaniel entered the second grade. I.loy comes from Tualatin. Mr, and Mrs. Woodson Mc Danlel and family arrived here recently from Tualatin and ex pect to make their home here. A square dance cluh was or ganized at the hall last Monday evening when Miss Rose Hoosier was out from Prineville for in struction. The club plans to meet twice a month after the now year. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barton nnd son. Hillman. ot navvnie, re turned to their home Friday after spending a few days with her brother. Homer Jones, and fam ily. Orlo Flock left Wednesday for Ml. Vernon where he hunted ant lerless deer. He returned late in the week. Mrs. Orlo Flock and children were confined to their home all last week with illness. Rawland Carlson was confined to his bed last week with an at tack of tonsilitis. A Jarge crowd attended the regular grange meeting Friday evening when the members de cided to organize a third and fourth degree team. The teams will hold their first practice at the hall on Sunday afternoon. January 8. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Carlson wer - introduced, and made short talks. Following the business meeting the annual Christmas party was held. The program consisted of group sing ing of Christmas carols, reading "Annie and Willie's Prayer" by Buddy Dickson and "Bobby's Sur prise" by Sidney Carter," and a guitar and accordion duet by Ro berta Dietz and Mrs. Glenn" P.it ter. This was followed by games and matching of partners" for sup per. Potluck supper and candy was served to those present. The next meeting will lie on Jami-' ary fi. Leslie Dickson re turned this past Mondav evening from Portland where they had 1 gone after their daughter.
