George Wakefield and fam ily to The Dalles last Sunday, where they attended the gold?n wedding of Mr. nnd Mrs. John Davidson. Davidson Is a brother of Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Allen. Mrs. Cora Meek nnd Marvin nnd Mnbel Meek of Plainview were dinner guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Theo dore Noel. The Sisters high school boys' basketball team and girls' volley ball team played th Redmond teams last Wednesday night at the Sisters gym. The Sisters boys won the basketball game by a score of 34 to 32 and the girls lost the volleyball game by a score of 43 to 23. Mrs. Jess Line returned home last week after spending a week In the Willamette valley visiting friends and relatives. Elmer Dodd of Sioux City,' la., arrived Thursday to visit at the home of his son and daughter-ip-law and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Dodd. Mrs. Clydj Bush entertained with a birthday party in honor of her nephew, jimmy's, 8th birth day anniversary last Wednesday afternoon at her home. The chil dren enjoyed games and after the opening of the gifts r?freshments. which included a birthday cake. were served by the hostess. Those present were: Tommy and Jerry Meyers, Joe and Biily Bembry, Sammy and Robert Dean Hewitt Colen Reinecker, Douglas Hocket. Denny and Sharon Day and Cheryl and Timmy Day. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Benson and son, Gary, left Monday for Port land to spend a few days. Dee Lowe and Lorretta Wilde were married in Bend last Satur day night at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Pete Leithaiwer and Mrs. Richard McKenzie entertained with a pinochle party, which was held in Leithauser's new store building Saturday evening. High prizes iwere won by Mrs. Bob Dodd and Cliff . Ullman and low prizes were won by Virginia Campbell and Norman - Minks. The traveling prize was won by Dolly Wyatt. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Helgeth and infant daughter, Sheila Faye. of Cascadia and Mrs. A. E. Sherwood of Sweet Home spent Saturday night and Sunday at the A. E. Sherwood farm. Mrs. Perit Huntington accom panied Mr. and Mrs. Buster Mc Kenzie of Prineville to Portland where she spent the week end visiting her grandson, Cecil Kim McKenzie, who is a patient in the Good Samaritan hospital, and at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Perit Huntington Jr, who live in Port land. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Kribs and son, Billy, of Bend, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hagen and son, Rob ert, were dinner guests Sunday at the Guy McLaughlin home. Mr. and Mrs. George Meyers and sons spent Friday in Madras where they visited relatives. Mrs. Blaine Gammon, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Hanson and Mrs. Walter Hanson and Mrs. Walter Perry returned Friday from Spo kane, where they had been called earlier in the week because of the death of Mrs. Gammon's sis ter, Mrs. George LaPray, who was killed in an automobile acci dent. Mrs. LaPray's funeral was held last Friday morning. The Sisters chamber of com merce has annnounced that It is sponsoring a Christmas decora tion contest beginning now and continuing until Christmas eve. The prizes will be as follows: For the best business house decora tion, $7.50. The first prlz? for the best decorated home will be $7.50; the second prize, .$5. the third prize $3 and the fourth prize $2. All decorations must be visible from the street and be on display from December 21 to December 25. All homes in Sisters, Brooks Camp and surrounding area are eligible. The judges for the con test will b? from outside of Sis ters and all decorations will be considered. The judging will be done between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. December 21 and winners will be announced at the Christ mas program at the gym on De cember 22. The -4-H Cooking II and III "Careful Cooks" club held their regular meeting on Saturday, December 3, at the home of their leader, Mrs. Lewis Luckenbell. Sondra Reese presided at the bus iness meeting with all members present. After the business meet ing the Cooking II girls prepar ed Christmas salad and the Cook ing III girls baked hot rolls. The girls exchanged Christmos gifts and, after they had opened opened them, enjoyed relresn ments of the salad and hot rolls which they had prepared. The Cooking ni girls took home sam ples of their hot rolls. Mrs. Clifford Ullman and chil dren drove to Portland Thursday and returned Saturday. They vis ited the children's grandmother and aunt, Mr.s E. T. Ullman and Mary, of Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith of Sweet Home spent the week end at the home of Smith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy McLaughlin. Mrs. Mabel Milius attended a baby shower and party for Mrs. j Ralph Crawford and Infant daugh ter, Terry, of Bend, last Saturday night. . Ernest McKenzie of Prineville visited at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard McKenzie and family, Monday and Tuesday of this week. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Hewitt last Tuesday evening were: Mr. and Mrs. Oren Erickson and daughter, Gail, and Mrs. Marion Lytle. . A pink and blue shower was given in honor of Mrs. Stanley Mehr, by Mrs. Jennie Carroll at the home of the guest of honor's mother, Mrs. Jack Wilkinson, last Thursday afternoon. Storks con priced the decorations and favors. Games were played and prizes were won by Mrs. Bud Winkle, Mrs. Alice Campbell; Mrs. Jerry Harrington and Ms. Numa Mc Coin. After the opening of the gifts, refreshments were served.
