Stab Wound, 7 Years Old, Fatal Portland, Dec. 6 till A mortu ary today asked the coroner's of fice for permission to bury a man who died of knife wounds suf fered seven years ago. Authorities said Clarence R. Russell died at his home last Thursday and a report from the veterans hospital was the result of spinal paralysis caused by a knife wound. Deputy coroner Gideon Snook said Russell was stubbed April 11, 1942, In an altercation with a man identified on police records as Bruce Logan Smith. Smith died October 15 In the state men tal hospital, authorities said. FIREMEN GATHER TREES Culver, Dec. 6 Small fir trees from the Mount Jefferson foot hills in the Cascade mountains to the west of here will grace homes of this town and at Ma dras during the holiday season. TAKEN TO PRISON Two teen-age Prineville youths charged with contributing to the delinquency of two minor girls, Sunday were taken to the Ore gon state prison to begin serving 18-month sentences. The youths, Lester Howard Fields, 18, and Leonard C. Shobe, 19, were taken to the prison by Claude L. McCauley, Deschutes county sheriff. The boys pleaded guilty to charges that they persuaded two Terrebonne girls to accompany them on a five-day trip to Vale. STARTS PRISON TERM Edgar Allen Pool, 26, of Salem, Sunday was taken to the Oregon state prison by Claude L. McCau ley, Deschutes county sheriff, to begin serving a five-year sentence, for auto theft. Pool was arrested in Salem November 14, and accused of stealing a car owned by a fiend resident. He pleaded guilty to the charge. Sentence was Imposed by R.
