TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1949 it: THE BEND BULLETIN, BEND, OREGON PAGE THREE Seven Sorority Pledges Initiated at Banquet Grange Social Set for Friday Carroll Acres, Nov. 15 (Special) Pine Forest grange will hold a social Friday evening in the Pine Forest hull, beginning at 8:30, wilh ull members and their fami lies and friends invited to attend. Cards and games are being plan ned for the evening's entertain ment, as well as dancing, with an orchestra to provide music. The affair will be the last so cial of the year to be sponsored by the present social committee, which includes George Roberts, Mrs. Hugh Fountain, Mrs M. C. Culler, Mrs. Hooper Dyer and Mrs. Claude Wanlchek. CHURCH GROUP TO MEET Cii-cles of the Methodist Wom en's Society of Christian Service will have meetings Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mrs, Oscar Hanson. 1474 Fresno, will entertain group 1, and Mrs. Hubert Bart leu will be program leader. I lostess for group 2 will be Mis. R. E. John son, 1728 W. First street, ana Miss Ada Newby will be program leader. Group 3 will meet at the home of Mrs. Carl E. At the business session to fol low the dinner, Miss Charlotte Easton, president, and Mrs. Wal. ter Daum, vice-president, will pre. sent the auxiliary for inspection, witn Mrs. tidna Beddow, Pendle ton, state president, and Mrs. Mae Anderson, Klamath Falls, vice president, to make their official visit. "Mrs. Harold Friedley, Mrs. Newton Graham, Mrs. N. R. Gil bert and Mrs. Edith Wilson will be hostesses for the dinner. In charge of decorations and serving will be Mrs. Walter Daum. Dancing Club Slates Thanksgiving Formal Members or the Bendonian dancing club will have their an nual "Thanksgiving" formal Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Bendon ian studio, with dancing to or chestra music to be from 9 p.m. to midnight. Claude Cook is to be guest caller for the square danc ing. Before the party, an instruc tion session will be held at 8 o'clock. The regular mid-week class les son will be tomorrow night at 8 o'clock. There will be special em phasis on square dance routines, according to Mrs. L. M. Lancas ter, instructor. BAZAAR PLANS COMPLETED A merchants' lunch, with serv ing to start at 11 a.m., will high light the bazaar and food sale to be given by the First Lutheran ladies' aid, Friday, Nov. 18, in the church basement. Each member of the aid is being asked to take pie or cake to the church Friday for the food sale. In preparation for the bazaar, the group will have a no-hostess work meeting Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the church parlors. Women are to take their donations of fancy work to be marked, it was announced. Soropllmist club will have a dinner meeting Wednesday eve ning at the Elkhorn country club, with members of the Burns Sor optimist club to be guests. The local women are to meet at 6:45 p.m. at the Donner flower shop, to pool transportation. The Bend group will have a short business neeting before the dinner. A membership drive, to end with the December meeting, was launched. Miss Adele Thompson, "of John Tuck school, Redmond, presented her sextet in two minstrel songs. Mrs. R. F. Jones, Redmond, show ed colored slides of her trip to Alaska. C. Mahoney, principal of Tumalo school, spoke briefly. Re freshments were served by the executive committee. Friday Bridge club will meet et 1:15 p.m. Nov. 18 at the home of Mrs. George Bllnn, 552 Riverside. Bend AAUW branch will have a luncheon meeting Saturday at 12:45 p.m., at the Pine Tavern. The luncheon will replace the us ual monthly evening meeting. Bob Johnson, of the Bend high school faculty, will discuss pend ing legislation pertaining to edu cation. Mrs. Almeda Hoist, who is in charge of the program, is arranging' musical numbers. Mrs. Carl E.
