ogy, haa devised a method of
treating packaged foods and oth
er packaged products which he
believes will eliminate damage
caused by rats,
Hampel say sodium fiuosiSi

surface of paperboard shipping
cartons, would be an effective rat
repellent. He also suggests that
it be applied In glue lines of the
paperboard or incorporated In the
paperboard Itself.
Hampel said warehouses as
sume they wiil have an average
loss ol la per cent ol the value
of stored articles through damage
caused by rats.

Madras, Sept. 23 The Madras
airport comissiiin has named T.
T. Fewer, Jefferson county judge,
as chairman of the group to suc
ceed the late W, J. Hess, business
man and member of the Madras
city council, ties several weeks
ago died suddenly, having been
stricken with a heart attack white
attending a city council meeting.
John Hess, former engineering
instructor at Oregon State col
lege, was named by the commis
sion to succeed his father on the
organization.
The Madras airport is operated
under joint sponsorship of the
city of Madras and Jefferson
county.
