All these moves are related to tlie coopera tive waging' of the cold war ngalnst communism. The simplest explanation of how devaluation will work relates to a low-priced llrltlsh automo bile. It had a tremendous sale In this country immediately after thp war nt a price of $1,200 plus tuxes. About a year ago sales began to fall off. That Is when American production begun more nearly to fill the American de mand with bigger, better and cer tainly more powerful cars. Sales of that low priced British cur are approaching a full stop. With devaluation of the British pound from $4.03 ot $2.80, the price of that automobile automat ically goes down to about $H-I0 plus taxes. The British hope that nt the new prices, Americans will begin spending their dollars again for automobiles and other united kingdom products. They will get less for each article but hope to sell more of ettch for a bigger dol lar take. Device Eliminates Umbrella-Toting t 'leveliuid '!! .
