OREGON TUESDAY, JULY 19, 1949 Silvertpn Wins Twin Bill From Bend Elks Team Bend dropped both of its Ore gon State league games to the strong Silverton Red Sox over the week end, losing the Satur day night contest 7 to 0 and the Sunday game 6 to 0. In the Sun day game. Piper, Silverton pitch er, was apparently on his way to a shutout over the Elks when Cub Huuek came to bat in the ninth, to pole out the Bend team's lone hit of the contest. Hill, superintendent, said today. The boy, described by Dr. Hill as a "high grade moron," confess ed to the hospital fire after Lieu tenants Thomas Sheridan and Eric Tucker of the state police ar son squad accused him of setting another blaze in one of the cot tages at Fairview Friday.
