party at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Wilbur Sholes. . The betrothal
news, coming as a surprise to

served in the army in world war
II, completing service in the South
Pacific and Australia.

WBA Social Club
Organized Friday
A social club for members of
the Women's Benefit association
was organized yesterday after
noon at a meeting in the Pilot
Butte inn sunroom, following a
1 o'clock luncheon at the Trail-

Women. Golfers
Hold Contest
Mrs. George Thompson won
both the driving and putting con
tests, in which women of the Bend
Golf club participated yesterday
at the golf course. In another
contest, Mrs. Halbrook won the
prize for the best approach.
Mrs. W. L. Stollmaek was chair
man for the 1 o'clock luncheon.

Annual Benefit Card Party
Many local women are planning
to attend the annual cancer bene
fit card party to be held Tuesday,
May 17, in the Pilot Butte inn
Blue room.- The affair, sponsored
by Beta Sigma Phi sorority, will
start with a dessert luncheon at 1
o'clock. Numerous groups are
making up foursomes for the
bridge and pinochle which will
follow.
Young Mothers Study club will
meet Monday at 8 p.m. at the
home of Mrs. Albert Larson, 512
East Irving. Mrs. Floyd Neff will
lead a discussion on "Child Prob
lems." ,Mrs. George Davis and
Mrs. Leo Beery will report on the
new city-wide crecreation pro

Style Show Has Bridal Finale

Gowns for a bridal party were modeled as the finale of the style
show at the mother-daughter tea held May 6 in the Redmond high
school gymnasium. Miss Elizabeth Lamb, advanced home econ
omics student, made the wedding dress which she is modeling, as
well as the bridesmaid's dress worn by Bonnie Carlos and the
flower girl s frock worn by Margaret Petersen.

ARTIST REWARDED

service at the Trinity Episcopal
church at 11 a. m. on Sunday.
