He is a graduate of Bend high school and served in the army in world war II, completing service in the South Pacific and Australia. Wedding plans have' not been announced. . Helickson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Os mundson, Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Skaggs, Miss Dorothy Bush, Mr. and Mrs. Sholes and the betrothed couple. , WBA Social Club Organized Friday A social club for members of the Women's Benefit association was organized yesterday after noon at a meeting in the Pilot Butte inn sunroom, following a 1 o'clock luncheon at the Trail- IJway coffee shop honoring Mrs. director for Oregon and Wash ington. Officers of the new club were nominated as follows: Mrs. Lillie Walker, president; Mrs. Williatrt; Spencer, vice-president ; Mrs. Cecil Hollinshead, secretary; Mrs. Ray Allen, treasurer, and Mrs. Henry C. Nelson, press correspon dent. Mrs. Nelson was also ap pointed junior supervisor by Mrs. Bowen. The first meeting of the club will be held Wednesday, June 1, at 8 p.m. at her home on Port land avenue. In addition to those nominated as officers, members present at the luncheon and meeting were Mrs. Ola Clover, Mrs. Robert Stout and Mrs. Ivan R. Pickett. Women. Golfers Hold Contest Mrs. George Thompson won both the driving and putting con tests, in which women of the Bend Golf club participated yesterday at the golf course. In another contest, Mrs. Halbrook won the prize for the best approach. Mrs. W. L. Stollmaek was chair man for the 1 o'clock luncheon. Others on the committee were Mrs. E. W. Beta Sigma Phi to Sponsor Annual Benefit Card Party Many local women are planning to attend the annual cancer bene fit card party to be held Tuesday, May 17, in the Pilot Butte inn Blue room.- The affair, sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi sorority, will start with a dessert luncheon at 1 o'clock. Numerous groups are making up foursomes for the bridge and pinochle which will follow. Young Mothers Study club will meet Monday at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Albert Larson, 512 East Irving. Mrs. Floyd Neff will lead a discussion on "Child Prob lems." ,Mrs. George Davis and Mrs. Leo Beery will report on the new city-wide crecreation pro gram.
