On Wednesday of next week, classes will meet in a practice, and this competition will be used in pick ing the team for the Hayward re lays and dividing the boys into varsity and junior varsity squads. Workouts are being held each evening on Bruin field, but at present the track is rather soft and dusty, result of the prolonged late winter and early spring drought. Further work is plan ned on the track, to get it in shape for the major meets that are just ahead. Following the Hayward relays on April 22, the Bears will be hosts when the Central Oregon league meet Is held here orr AprH 30. On May 3, the Redmond Pan thers will face- the Bears here in a dual meet. May 7 has been set as the date for the Big Six, league meet, men win come tne district No. 2 meet in Bend, on May 11. Among non-lettermen who are showing up well are Jack Robin son, who is turning in some nice marks in sprint events, and Law rence Carroll, who appears to be the best of the milers.
