They were' married Saturday at a quiet ceremony in Bend. Miss Kay Mailrienne Lonbnlla became the bride of James nrennan Lammors at an impressive ceremony performed Saturday morning, Feb. 19, in fhe presence of immediate fam ily members.- Hev. William Coughlm read the double ring ceremony at 1 1 a. m. in St. Francis Catholic church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. K. M. Longballa, of 107 Drake road, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Lammers, of 740 Riverside drive. The young cou ple will be at home after March 1 in Portland, where Lam mers Ms employed in me oi- f ice of General Petroleum cor poration, ilis bride is a mem ber of the faculty at Parkro.se high school. Mrs. II o w a r d Nicholson was soloist for the wedding, and Mrs. Clarence Rush was at the organ. As a prelude, she played "O Perfect Love." by Barnliy! and three Bach numbers, including, "My Heart Is Yearning for Cod," "In Thee Is Gladness," and "In Pulei Jubilo." Mrs. Nich olson's solos were the Bach Cou nod "Ave Maria" and "The Lord's Prayer," Malotte. The procession al aiul recessional were by Adolph Rossi. Baskets of white gladioli and candelabra holding white tapers provided an attractive setting for the c ivmony. Miss Ann Longballa was her sister's only attendant, and Wil liam Plain acted as best man. The btido was given in marriage by her father, and her brother, Bruce, ushered. The brides gown of traditional white satin was made with button-trimmed basque bodice, tie tailed with Peter Pan collar ami long, close-fitting sleeves; gather ed skirl and lace-trimmed train. After the ceremony, n luncheon for Hie wedding party and mem bers of the two families was served at the home of the bride's parents. Afterward the bridal couple left by plane, for a short honeymoon on the Oregon coast. For goingaway, the young Mrs. Lammers wore a suit and match ing coat in beige wool, with brown accessories and a corsage of brown orchids. The bride is a graduate of Ore gon State college. She is affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma and kappa Delta Pi sororities. Lam mers attended Portland univer sity and completed military ser vice in naval aviation. The couple had planned a larger wedding in Portland, but because of the re cent serious illness of the bride groom's father, the simpler wed ding w as chosen. AY f? f?h fHONE 711 Miss Zastera Tells News of Engagement Cupid's arrows bore romantic news Valentine's day on the Wil-. lamette university campus, when Miss Arlene Zastera's engagement to Robert Bennett was announced. Miss Zastera is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Zastera, of W East Greenwood, Bend, and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Bennett, of Salem. The lietrothal was told at Fred rickson hall, where Miss Zastera lives, when the president of the hall received a large heart-shaped box of chocolates, topped with a cupid complete with bow, arrows and quiver. The candy, a gift from Miss Zastera's fiance, was passed to the Fredrickson hall women, as were white cakes dec orated with individual red hearts, with the names "Arlene and Bob" adorning an arrow attached to each. ; Both young people are Juniors at Willamette university. Miss Zastera is majoring in psychol ogy. Bennett, who is affiliated with Beta Theat Pi, is majoring in physics and mathematics. The wedding will be an event of late summer, after which the cou ple will return to Willamette for their senior year. The betrothed couple had plan ned to come to Bend for a Valen tine's day announcement party. but the trip was postponed, be cause of poor traveling conditions. Elder Whittaker has been released from his mis sion, and will return to his home in Circleville. Utah. Adults of the church and chil dren over 12 are invited to attend the party. It was announced. A work meeting, to prepare articles for the sale, will be held Friday afternoon at the church.- Members were asked to bring their own equipment for pressing. Kenwood PTA Will Hold Meet The regular monthly meeting of the Kenwood PTA will be held tonight at 8:00 in the school lunch room with business of the meet ing centering around the forth coming Kenwood PTA carnival. Taylor, Bend, became the bride of John William Pickles, son of Mrs. Opal Pickles, Redmond, Tuesday, February 10, at the Community Christian church, Powell Butte. Rev. D. I. Penhollow performed the 8:30 ceremony which took place before the flower banked altar. The bride, given In marriage by her fother, wore a pink dress maker suit with white accesso ries. Her corsage was fashioned of double gardenias. Miss Jean Pickles, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. She wore a navy blue taffeta Infor mal dress with pink accessories and a single gardenia corsage.
